Really nice!
DANG! If I were in the market, I'd be gunning after that car.
I wonder what they want for it?
I emailed the company, and got this reply. "It is being offered without reserve or minimum at our Midland auction on May 27th. The information is attached. We expect her to bring around $30k. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!"
Man I want to bid!

Wow is right. I want to hear how that sounds.
RYAN:
sounds like this:
Vaaaaaarooooooooom........... Vaaaaaroooooooooooom....................! ting ting ting THUNK!!!
tebs
I can see those lips moving... glad I am shielded from the spray.
I don't know a VW suspension, side curtains and only a VW 4 speed.
That engine looks super cool. But if it's the base 1971 911 T engine it has 123 horsepower, yeah? I suppose it might be a 911 S with 180, but what are the chances?
For me, the draw is not so much the HP rating (I think the T had the black cowling and the S had red cowling) but to me, the sound of a 70's era 911 through a Sport muffler is ear p0rn!
Well the new way is to record that sound and pump it through a solid sound system that you can hear on the inside of the car
Is it swing or IRS? Either way I could put a speed it.
VS likes swing axle to gain rear wheel room - it has rear wheel room - hence swing axle (ok that's a jump).
Car sold for only 24K at auction. dang.
If it's just a 911 engine hung off the back of the trans and not one of Henry's re-engineered creations (with the engine/trans moved forward and the rear wheels set back slightly) then the front/rear weight balance (and handling) will be even worse than a regular 4 cylinder aircooled Speedster. And, as Ed pointed out, depending on power output, it may not even make as much power as a nice type 1 2 liter, so other than the wow factor (which a lot of people won't appreciate), the only real benefit is Porsche costs at maintenance time? And with those crappy little screens that pass for air filters (they do keep the stones and small birds out) the engine will need to be rebuilt sooner than you think. I'll pass...

Those 2.2 power plants have a GREAT reputation for longevity, torque, and capable of powerful builds down the road. Henry's configuration is truly remarkable as I am AMAZED at how well my IM6 handles....I have tried to push it and sticks to road like freakin GLUE and better than any of the 3 911s that I gave owned/NO heavy ass steer. I'm sure it has something to do with the 911/930 suspension that is NOT LIKELY on this 2.2 rig NOR the engineering adjustments ALB noted above. I have whipped it around highway exits approaching recklessness without a TWICH/screech.
The very FLAT PANCAKE configuration may also reduce center of gravity a bit but dont know if that contributes much to the equation....
