Craig, I used SEM Color Coat Aerosol with great success. I did both door kick panels, two speedster seats, the top of my dash board and my 1/2 tonneau cover with three aerosol spray cans at about $15 each. I did use their p/n 38343 vinyl prep too.

The product is very easy to use and I had no trouble covering up the black vinyl which was on my dash and tonneau. Can't remember which way it went, but the finished product was slightly darker ( or was it lighter ) than the colour chart. My colour choice was Camel I think. I bought mine at a body shop supply house.

If the part is off the car, such as the tonneau. You can also use a trash can, water, rock salt, and they sell real fabric dye by RIT or any upholstery shop supplier. Roll it up, stick it in, Done. The SEM spray is great however you're adding a cover or spray, it can scratch off whereas the RIT absorbs in. Just a thought. SEM is great for door panels, dash boards, interior trim pieces but since you'll be removing and folding up the tonneau, I suggest the real deal dye.
