I've got a vinyl top (two bows) VS. the bows (1/2"dia.) are encased in stitched fabric sheaths that are adhered to the inside of the top...That 'adherence' has failed for the bow directly behind my head (and is beginning to fail on the bow above the rear window)

The sheath is 2 1/2" wide...1/2" on each side once was glued(?) across the inside of the top. The tell tale discoloration is uniform so I assume it was a double-backed tape that had to be strong to withstand the tension...it also had to be very thin since there's no residue...only discoloration.

Has anyone else experienced such a problem? If so, what is the fix?

Good Lord, there's half a zillion 'contact cements' on the market...each one claiming to be the greatest stuff since Saran Wrap!

Independent testimonials aren't much help since they're inconsistent and often contradictory. Consumer Reports tantalizes that their testing reveals some are fantastic while others suck..."press the subscribe $$ button now to access an entire year's worth of reports on every consumer product in existence"
