Well I guess first I am familiar with IM more than other makes... also if look at the link you can see on page 2 the front end... and if you keep going backward it does not have the Torsion beam front, but the frame that will accomodate the 914 or 911 front end.  it has 4 bolts rims, so it has to be 914 ( here is a pict from the car in question)  ... If you could magnify you may be able to see there is no torsion bars but mcpherson struts. Any hope this helps you.. Phil has this front end but upgraded the brakes.

I do think this is an interesting car.  Speedster on the outside and roadster on the inside.  Turbo suby.  Has to be blindingly fast.  My 914 brakes were scary with 145hp.  914 brakes in that car must be terrifying.  I would immediately change those out for either early 911 brakes or place the BMW 320i brakes.  I actually think red works with that interior.  Nice car.
