Finally broke free and spent some time just reading some of the postings - many thousand new ones since I logged on last time! My fault and loss folks, just not enough time to do everything. Work has been a bear and still had to train so I could ride the bicycle across Iowa again, but a great trip for decompression!

We were able to visit my daughter and her husband over Labor Day weekend and spent a few hours with Dusty and the LMS! In addition to their fantastic hospitality and friendship, we had the distinct pleasure of meeting their new Lotus up close and personal. Dusty treated me to a neck snapping trip in the machine on our way to the marvelous BBQ place and bakery. I'm just not used to 0-60 in less than 4 seconds folks. (And getting my oversized body in - and out - of the vehicle was a hoot!)

In any event, here's a picture of my daughter with the Lotus.

Good to be back!

Jim - The diverse opinions (especially when it comes to anything dealing with politics or telling the truth) and the quick/sick witted members that contribute are what I missed most! Laughing out loud is definitely food for the soul.

Larry - My daughter is married to an Air Force guy that could physically destroy most folks on this site OR hack into any of our computers causing major damage. Their basement looks like the control room at NASA.

John - Missed one day of riding this year because I had to take a turn driving the van and trailer. (Our driver had to bail because her father took ill the day we left. He's fine, but at the time a bummer for her and a bummer for us.) Still, I rode just under 400 miles. The best part about the trip was that my wife surprised me by driving up to Iowa (10 hours), meeting me at the hotel the night before the last day, and then standing at the finish cheering as I dipped my wheels in the mighty Mississippi River. We left the group and my bike in Iowa and spent the rest of the weekend holed up in Kansas City. Life was AND is really good!

Best regards,
Cal
