Last week I was able to enjoy a visit with Jake Raby. He had asked that whenever I was in his area, to stop in so he could gather some data on my engine after I had some miles on it. I have put 22,500 on the new Type IV engine since 1/13/10 so that qualifies as "some"--right?

I had an Espar gas heater and an A-1 header and muffler drop shipped to Jake which he installed for me.

My son also joined me for this --drove his 911 from his home so we could drive together in our cars back to his home in Wilson NC to see my grand babies.

Russ had scheduled a dyno session with Jake after installing a Wong chip plus a lot of other tuning, he was hoping to see 190 HP and was bowled over to see it make a whopping 250 HP. I drove it later on the way to NC and it is a beast. Jake didn't charge Russ anything for the dyno time and also gave him all the graphs that were generated. Very generous and kind,

Jake said that my engine really liked the A-1 and it made 14 more HP at the whel than the old muffler. A real nice benefit. Of course that was after Jake checked the adjustments of the Dells and adjusted the timing some. I like the sound of the A-1 too but it really hangs sorta low and I'll have to be careful where I go with it.

Also the Espar is a welcome addition as on the 1,000 mile trip from NC to Hot Springs it was very chilly--40 degrees in the morning so the heater was great. Shudda gotten it sooner!

This was a great stop as far as improving my car thanks to what Jake did to the engine. I ran the 1,000 miles at 70-75 all the way home with touching 90 a couple of times. (90 was 4,200 RPM of the 6,500 RPM redline).

Best thing I ever did was to find Jake and have him create a great Type IV for my VS. Every transaction with him has been a pleasure and I can'r recommend him enough. Fine performance delivered deserves
recognition and I am happy to share this report.

Can't wait for Carlisle---we'll do I-81 again, Cory!

Jack is probably the most loyal and appreciative purchaser I have ever dealt with. He is a true gentleman that appreciates the service that is extended to him. He drives that damn car the way they should all be driven.

Jack has driven this car more in 15 months than most Speedsters ever see in 20 years.. He has put more miles on my engine than several Type 1 engines combined. I am proud to have my name on Jack's engine and greatly appreciate his loyalty, kindness and support.

I guess I have finally impressed someone :-)
Jack and I are Brothers, pulled from the same mold, just a few generations apart. We understand each other, if other people understood us it would scare the hell out of them.

Jack has been a loyal supporter of what we have created and people like him who APPRECIATE what we do is the ONLY thing that drives us to continue working with outdated engines that are old enough to be in a Museum...

Seldom does a purchaser recognize and understand "over the top" performance and effectiveness, but Jack certainly does. He is in a class thats odd for sure, but so are the rest of my clients these days.
I drive about 29K/ year in my aircooled vehicles... But my daily commute is 86 miles per day, plus my excusrions.. 160K in less than 8 years in my 912E with an engine near exacting Jacks.
Type 4 power is for those who intend to drive their cars, otherwise its just a waste of money.

Glad to see that the opposition is back with a couple of members of the "Ball busting club" trying to detract from Jack's post. Seeing that sort of negative energy is what drives me. Thanks guys.

There is always a couple in every group, never fails. I love every one of them. I'll have my turn one day.
Hahaha. The naysayers have never sat in the right seat of mine or Jacks car, or better yet the left seat. Even though mine is only a type1, it was worth every penny. Thanks, Jake. Any of the Carlisle attendees will attest to the performance, the rest of you don't REALLY know, do you?

Over 20,000 miles and counting..........
Boy, Jack, You've got THAT right. And the Chinese stuff seems to be getting far worse, not better as the Japanese parts of years ago did.

I remember that after my son, Chris, went for a ride in Danny's 550 he came up to me and said "that car is seriously quick". That's a big statement coming from him and the cars he's had, believe me!

I'm getting too old for that kind of performance. I'm also thinking that the next car is gonna have a really quiet muffler, too - like next to silent. "Stealth Speedster" - The ultimate sleeper!!

And Jake: There are always ball-busters in every crowd. Just let your products and work speak for itself. Us non-ball-busters know and appreciate what you can do (and so do all those T-IV owners across the ponds!)
