Hey Eddie, thanks for starting a new thread and your comments are wonderful. Your fingers must be worn out. Sallye and I enjoyed the run immensly and it was great meeting you both. I am still waiting on a pink slip believe it or not and some of the best ever Santa Cruz summer weather has slipped by unused. A real shame and frustrating. Thanks again for your organization of the event. I would love to organize one down here (Historic Races are this weekend, Pebble Beach in Sept I think) but not till I have a car. I have posted some of my pics on the Napa Run folder in Members. One i like a lot is a modified road pic called "BarriessaRoadWater" or something like it and is a PS modified shot of the cars on the road. Check it out.

Thanks much, Jay

ps. are you sending out a email, phone list of the club?
Eddie,
This was certainly the ultimate Tub Tour based on the great people, scenery & cars! As I stated in another post, I've been meaning to tell you that your VS looked so perfect, I thought it was an IM (o:! Seriously, absolutely stunning car! Did you wear out the britles on your dust mop? (O: I thought I was bad like that but (as you said) you're better! Keep her sparkling!!
I really enjoyed meeting you & your wife with her truly vivacious personality. She reminds me of my "best woman" at my wedding.(Yeah... being the non-traditionalist,it was a female;o)
If Jim makes it out, you're more than welcome to come on over for a few cool ones & a Q. Did I tell you I have a yellow Q? Just kidding. & yeah.. sometimes my underwear is yellow )o:

Two things that I would like help with, one is everyone that attended the Wine Run needs to let me know the size T shirt they want and the color of the car on it, black, red, or silver. These are free to the drivers who attended, and are being printed with the Wine Run logo. If the passengers want one too we will need their size and color too, but will cost the same as the T shirts I sell in the cool gear section. the cut off date to get your T shirt info in is one week from today, Aug 20th. Also I'm trying to get an address/ phone list of the participants of the Wine Run, I have everyone except Paul and Rick's. Please email this info to me ASAP, as we can't send the gifts without it. Thanks alot. Eddie carumba356@c-zone.net
Eddie, thanks for the effort with the T-Shirts, I am sure they will be special. Your organizational skills will surely serve you well in the business. I was thinking that for us who are new to the club and have trouble remembering names and such, that it might be a nice feature to post a NorCal club folder on the site and have each member insert a photo of themselves and their partner (if applicable) with their vehicle. This would be a good memory aide for anyone who is not in frequent touch. Let me know your thoughts.
OK, I am back and boy was that easy. Ten minutes at AAA and I am done. It took me twice as long to even talk to my insurance Co. Looks like I am covered and on the road so begin making plans for a Sept Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay rally!!! Kurt, don't be spiffin' that baby up too much, we be jealosin' you. I am off to drive to the beach, yeah!!!!!

Thank you so much , you did a great job on the label. Vintage 356 2003 what great year! I think I'll let it age. I can't wait for our next tour. I know Jay. John and myself are planning a tour in the Santa Cruz mountains in the near future. Rick maybe you can start producing Vintage 356 on your estate. Thank once again to Brian and Susan and to all that made this wonderful weekend happen

Well, what can I say - wine delivered to my door? Hell, I'm staying home more often. ;)

Thanks so much Brian and Suzan for the great job on the label and of course the wine. BTW: what kind of wine is it?

Dick, I just joined Byington Vineyards wine club in the SC mountains and they have a great place for a barbecue up there. I'm still working on the beach house for our eventual last stop point of the day. You can see it at www.aptosbeach.com.

I'll have to get permission from the homeowners for parking cars on the street. Need to get a firm date and I can see if the beach house is being rented or not. Or we can just have the barbecue there at the end of the day.

Let's talk this week.

JM

Dick, Michael,
A friend of mine is the cousin of David Bruce. He has a beautiful winery on Bear Creek Road, which is also a great drive. I will be seeing him tomorrow, I'll ask about group functions. Great location, great wine! Here is an excerpt from the his site.
---
David Bruce Winery was one of 12 California wineries to participate in the now famous 1976 "Judgment of Paris," in which California Cabernets and Chardonnays outscored French Bordeaux and Burgundies in a blind tasting in France.
---
On a recent trip, I stopped in Paris on way to Budapest. The French still hate us...

Theron:

I am a faithful follower of David Bruce wine and was there last weekend tasting some of their great Pinot's.

We can definitely make it a stop as we make our way through the Santa Cruz mountains.

Check out Byington at: www.byington.com/home.htm

Thanks for the suggestion.

And since it's after 5:00pm right now - I think its time to open one up. :)

Toast to you.
Nor Cal Wine Run Group,

No need for Thanks on the Wine, it was our pleasure to have met all of you.
Wine was sent out to all 9 Speedster Drivers as well as Jay's SAAB camoflaged speedster and our tour Napa guide Rick Warren.
If you didn't get yours..you probably have a drunk mailman...or it was intercepted by an enterprising son, daughter, mother-in-law, etc.

The wine is a 2001 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon but NOT expensive.
The image on the label is a compilation of actual photos taken on the run, and through the magic of Photoshop, Eddie's "Carumba" tub takes the foreground on the road leading down into Napa Valley.

Thanks again to everyone.

MM

Hey I was showing off my prized bottle of wine and found the note inside from Brian & Suzan, Thank you again... and thanks for the kind words, when you dress like I do and get to be my size, it's nice not to be referred to as a 'float'!
