Douglas is correct about the Black and the Aquamarine Blue BUT Meissen Blue with a red interior is very classy. It's one of those rare combinations that makes the Speedster even beter looking. Silver with red is a classic combination but I think it's better left for the Spyders. Ivory and red is also very nice and makes the Speedster look like a real old 50's car.
It's just my opinion but I've seen these combinations on original Speedsters many times.

I vote for black as my first choice, but black can be a pain-in-the- ass from a less than good prep, to a less than good application stand point.

My second choice is silver. This is a classic Porsche color and I think a very forgiving color in the areas previously mentioned, just always looks good, even if the car gets dirty, black tonneau & top make sense as well as your side curtains.

The Ivory/Meissen blue votes are valid and do indeed make the car look very 50's. Supporting Mr. Sharp's opinion,I guess he doesn't think blue would work with red, some of the Teutonic color choices have been a bit on the 'ickey' side over the years!

Good luck, I'll bet whatever you select it'll be a beaut!

Brian, a lot will depend on the shade of red. What color is your carpeting, top, and tonneau? Silver, black, red, or ivory should work with a red interior. If you go with red paint and match it to the interior color it might be a very nice combination - years ago my mother had a red 1952 Jag XK120 roadster with red interior, red wheels, and beige top/side curtains and the combo looked very neat.
Go with the silver. Black looks great when it's new but after a couple of years it shows every scratch, nick and rock chip. My 84 IM is white with a red interior and I really like it. It makes the car look more 'original'.
Best colour combo I've seen was a car Henry (Intermeccanica) was building (a few years ago) for someone in Florida. It was a wine/burgandy paint with a tan leather interior. It looked very sweet.
Was Slate Grey a 356 colour? I think that some time ago on the cover of Excellance there was a Slate Grey 356 with red interior. It looked very sharp! My IM is black with red interior but if I were to repaint it I'd opt for slate grey...it looks more "period" in my opinion. My 912 was Slate Grey (someone repainted it red) and is going back to that colour some day soon.

I would like anyone's suggestion for Exterior Paint Job as I already have the Red Leather and Red Carpet Interior. It is White now but I am in the process of having it painted.
