Rich and Bob---GET THAT HORN! I put a "Bad Boy" in my Speedster and love it. Brother, it IS loud and you will be heard!

Just remove the old horn, put the same connections that went to your stock horn onto the Bad Boy and you are in business.

This is a safety feature for your car---just like a rear third brake light and rear reflectors (those little square ones). We need all we can possibly do to improve the safety of our cars and these things help with that.

I pulled twin horns out of a 1990 Subaru, they are not tinny, they are slightly dissonant, gets your attention. Big plus, they were free. I had to use a relay though to turn the grounding output of the horn button into a +12v at the horns. Good idea anyway with duals. Originally, the single that came with it was TOTALLY LAME.
I run these Hellas.

118 db is pretty darn good. I have never NOT been able to get someones attention when I lay on the horn. Usually results in an immediate swerve back into their lane followed by an apologetic wave or the finger. They sound ugly but work very well.

110 dB is equiv to the sound of a chainsaw at 1 meter
120 dB is the threshold of discomfort
I had a city truck make a right turn at a red light in front of me. I stayed on the wimpy stock horn for a while and he still didnt see me. I picked up a set of the Hella supertones with 118 db of sound. I made 2 1/8 L brackets so they face out of the horn grills. Now I am heard!!! Huge difference over the stock one!!!
Well I did not go out and buy a ship horn But I could suggest where to put it. (being careful not to get ugly)

However i did find a good loud combo ,that I like that ,I now use on both my cars. It took some experimenting , but I got it.

Go to a Advance Auto and buy a Hi and low tone universal horn pair. Make sure you mount them on a thick rubber loop strap made from a old big rig mud flap and make sure you run good grounds to them.

The rubber loop helps suspend the horns and improve the tone. And you get a true European horn note. (that is plenty loud).. I Like them ,and have had good feedback from people about them
