Thanks for reading.....

I had a really nice meeting with Kirk at VS the other day, and needed to see how I "fit" in the cars.

I'm ready to spec out a car, and I'm concerned how others here in Minnesota have registered them. Have there been any problems, and have you registered it with collector or regular plates?

Thanks in advance!

Good luck finding another owner in MN. I haven't seen another yet in WI, which is kind of cool. If I lived in CA and saw them every day, I probably wouldn't think "Speedy" was so cool. I had no problem registering it here. It's registered as a '68 VW with regular plates. I decided not to go with collector plates because it's not really a collector car. In hindsight, I would have gone with "hobbyist" plates as that infers that it is not what it appears to be. Good luck with your "new" ride. If you ever want to meet half-way to Milwaukee, I'm always looking for an excuse for a longer drive.
It was based on the actual sale price of the vehicle. I have it insured for that price too. I explained to my agent that it is titled as a VW, but that it looks like something altogether different. He just asked how much I wanted it insured for and it's insured for what I paid for it.
