Ricardo, some general information of cylinder size: 90.5s, one time, were prefered over 94s, because they lasted longer. From what I've read/heard, this doesn't seem to be the case anymore. 94s may run a little hotter, but that doesn't seem to be an issue. Run 90.5s or have your case bored for the 94s. Don't run 92s, thick walled or not.

I would prefer 90.5's in my case (no pun intended) because they seem to be the perfect compromise between reliability and a little more power; at least from what I've read on some recent VW mags. I want something mildly altered that won't be expected to give me any extra headaches and the 90.5's seem to fit the bill. I'm asking this question because I'm in the process of buying a used Speedster and one of the ones I'm interested in is equipped with a recently built (approx. 3 yrs. old) 1835. I just want to know if I can equip that same block with 90.5's come rebuild time.
