Hi everyone. I'm a high school shop teacher. We have a 66 vw pan we want to modify for a speedster body. Just looking for actual measurements to mark out our chassis. Does anyone have any diagrams?

Measure 2x/cut once!
It might be helpful to become a supporting member and download the CMC build manual.
Sure would be great to help this team out. I personally have not done it but maybe an experienced builder on here could set up a google meet with the team for Q&A time. Be nice--pass it forward gentlemen.
@Alan Merklin Paging Dr Clock, Paging Dr Clock, please pick up the courtesy phone. A teacher is looking for help on a class project.
@ Carl Koppmann I'm a former Auto Shop teacher and have cut a number of speedster chassis, it's somewhat labor intensive but you can do it in a school shop environment. Click on " Resources" then "Library" to get you a PDF copy of the build manual. It's crucial that the chassis be assembled straight and even. Message me with any questions.
Thanks everyone for the help. I posted some pictures of the Manx Buggy we finished. Shortened 67 pan so you can see.

That looks FANTASTIC, Carl. Great job and happy students who learned useful skills!
That's a whole lot more useful than the wood bread board and copper candle stick holder I made in shop! I remember the shop teacher marking the bread board with a 6H pencil -- where it needed more sanding! Great welding!
Gorgeous Manx!

what is that strange looking blue/white car in background
That truly is a gorgeous Manx. We had Bruce Meyers and his wife Winnie as guests at our dinner at the Carlisle Kit Car show years back and he gave us a quick history of starting his business and how it grew globally over the years with Manx clubs all over. He was quite an interesting guy.
Someone mentioned setting up a Zoom meeting with your students and I think that's a great idea. There are a lot of similarities between the pans for Dune Buggy and Speedster, but then there are a few differences, too. If you have the CMC or Kitman build manual you have all the information you need, but there will always be questions and a few of us who have built their cars could certainly help out, along with all of the info on here. Maybe your students could get accounts on here, too? We're all deep into the Madness and someone is always around to answer questions no matter how arcane. The amount of information on this site is mind blowing.
I thought the blue car might be an old Austin Mini but front (grill) not tall enough.
Everyone here also has a stash/hoard of extra parts too. (Ha, maybe it's just me???).
There are some excellent build logs here too - Mango Smoothy's is one of the best.
That weird blue car is a Nissan something-or-other. They made small runs of a few different "boutique" cars back in the 90's, I believe. heavily into the retro thing that was popular then.
The pale blue car in the background is a Nissan Figaro, a Japanese market (RHD) retro car built in 1991 only (20k built). There was a series of 4 cars built by Nissan on a Micra base (so only 1L auto). The Figaro was turbo'd but that didn't contribute much extra oomph! But it wasn't about the speed or acceleration - it was about being cute. Quite popular as an import in the UK due to it being RHD. My wife wants one..
It was one of four cars built by Nissan to address the retro market. The Figaro was so popular that prosepective purchasers had to enter a lottery to buy a Figaro.
Here are the other three..
The Be-1
The Pao
The S-Cargo (geddit?!)

Thanks , yeah, 1991 nissan figaro. Right hand drive. Real fun retro styling!
I like the S-Cargo.
Someone here in Michigan has a Figaro. I saw it at the Woodward Dream Cruise.
