Email some details about your Myrtle Beach trip if you want to get together. It's a couple of hours north of me, but we could meet up somewhere.
Will do Lane.
Alan, the owner of this car runs a custom bike shop and he bought it from a gent out of Cal..., and yes its for sale.
I'll get an audience with him tomorrow to get his contact info and let him know you may be contacting him.
I'll also send you an email with my phone.

You're no relic, Wolfgang.
Alan, is the chassis we talked about last week?

Yes, if I can find a body the MGTD will come apart, I would keep the Freeway Flier trans, 1776 Street Wise motor and 4 wheel disc and super clean chassis for the speedster build. The FiberFab MGTD components would go up on eBay piece by piece.

I'll pass on the TD opportunity.
There is a chance that Alan Hais will have a lead on what is supposedly a boneyard of fiberglass bodies (from somebody's Cobra and Speedster efforts a few years back) near him. Allegedly, there are a half-dozen bodies visible from Rt. 50 on the way out of Chester as you head toward Ocean City, Md.
I'll get the scoop on those tomorrow, along with some details on whomever owns them. Ken Germershausen (fiberglass boat guy) moved out that way, so I'll give him a shout also.
Cheers!

Here's hoping there a speedy body in the group.
Cory.
I just took a virtual drive (via Google Earth) down Hwy 50 out of Chester and didn't see any cache of fiberglass car bodies. Do you have any more specifics about the actual location?
The quality of the Google Earth satellite images is astounding and it might actually be possible to spot a Speedster on the ground.

Troy, could be out of date pics. I did my place and saw vehicles I haven't owned for years.

I put a call in; left a message.
Did you enjoy the "drive," Troy? Cool idea!

Alan,
I just talked to my pal Chuck. He confirms there are three fiberglass bodies just before Easton, on the left side of Rt. 50 East -- on the right if you're heading west -- near a golf course and just before the airport.
He says they've been there for a long time, like years, and he hasn't seen any movement on them. His fear is that the bodies appeared to be unfinished, so there might be water in the fiberglass cloth by now.
He says they might be Listers or Cobras, but he hasn't stopped to check. Initially, he thought they were Speedsters. He and I will ride out there later in the month to have a closer look.
I tried Troy's trick, based on Chuck's info, and found this:

Came across the same place, Cory. Look like cobras.

Yeah looks to be Cobra bodies, neat that in this day and age, we can spy on stuff like this and save a hell of a lot of gas money too.
Keep and eye out and an ear open as I do want a speedster body....
I really need to find another $1,350 CMC speedster kit deal like I did last summer in Brooklyn, NY.

Tnx..... but just looking for something that is cheap and in someone's backyard .

Paul, Jane Snyder is probably interested in that body.
Hey. That is very cool, you guys found it! You even found the street view photos.
We just bought a new home and I saved tons of time by using Google Earth while we were searching for just the right home. I would find one that was the right square footage and had a 3 car garage, then I would Google it to see where it was in relation to the freeways and if it had space on the side or back that could be accessed for building a shop or parking a vehicle. I could also see what the neighborhood looked like. In many cases, after you found the satellite views, you could click street view and zoom in for a view from right in from of the house! Very handy.
I Googled my dad's home and checked the street view and there's my dad trimming his bushes in front of the house. Very funny.
For anybody who doesn't know what is going on here, Google has a nationwide fleet of vehicles crusing through cities. They are rigged with cameras and GPS devices that log the exact location of every photo they take and then the photos are made available on Google Maps and Google Earth. Just go to Google maps and type in your address...you might see yourself standing in your front yard!
