Cory,
I will go through all the extra parts that I have when I get home tonight and send you a picture of what I have. Keep the badge, it would look bitchin' on the hoopty. Whatever I have, you are welcome to. I do believe I even have a set of front signals that are designed to be frenched into the body, about the same as your foglights. The only drawback is that they are plastic lenses.
Jim
If you sell the "Corpse Badge" for $100 or so, you could use the $ to grab up two little high powered Xenon driving lights, and place those where the blinkers would normally be.

They'd kinda look stock ('cept a little blue . . . ) and, coupled with your head lamps and recessed driving lamps, would turn the front of your ride into a plasma cutter when everything's lit up . . .

Maybe ?
Great stuff, Jim! Yet another Corpse badge moves across the chessboard of used parts bartering! I know TC will understand; he knows the score at the Hoopty residence.

The bottom lenses in the third photo are PERFECT! If you don't want the badge, name your price! I could care less that they're plastic; they're going to answer the bells splendidly. Redefining irony, didn't I initially ship YOU my turn signals, grilles and old fog lights?

TC, jury's still out on additional lighting options. Still trying to fry the bigger fish; exhaust. I have an amazingly complicated exhaust system right now:

Cory,
Send me your address and I will send them out on Monday. The repos that you sent me are actually on my car now. I was considering switching them out with the SWF ones, but they are yours if they will work on your project. As for the corpse badge, if you are planning to put it on your car, keep it. If not, go ahead and send it my way. I have the perfect spot for it on my car. Either way, don't send any money. If you think of any other parts that you may need, just let me know. I have plenty of parts and resources around here for all types of projects.
Jim
E-mail is on the way! I'll be happy to take either the ones in the photo or the old ones you're using -- doesn't matter if there are bulbs or not, and I'm tickled to death either way.
You going to update the folder with your photos in it anytime soon? I'd love to see how it's coming.
You'll need to "e" your snail-mail address again too, so I can put the badge in the mail. One of these days, I'm gonna get a darned address book!
Woo-Hoo! One less thing to hunt down!
Thanks Jim ! ! ! !

Email sent, but ONLY send them if you're SURE that you won't need them down the line, OK !?!?

Try to think of something that you need, that I might have or be able to find for you in return for this terrific favor. Got a luggage rack and suitcase? Need travel stickers? Maybe some interior detail or random deck lid grill badge?

Lemme know Buddy!

Thanks ! ! !

TC
Cory,
Turn signal indicators are on their way to you through USPS. You should see them on Wednesday.
TC,
I am not able to access my home account from work. I will be sending out your set of indicators tomorrow morning. Can't think of anything I need off hand. My project is at a sort of standstill until I retire for the Air Force in November. Hopefully then I will have some free time to get it done.
Jim
"the Air Force"

Good for you ! ! ! ! ! My Father, three Uncles and Cousin are all Air Force. Tried to enlist but I lost the kidney as a kid and they didn't want me.

They were all pilots (which I'd wanted) and I one bad eye anyway.

So . . . I collect model planes . . . . pathetic . . .

Good for you!
TC,
Turn signal assemblies are on their way by USPS. You should have them Thursday.
The Air Force has been extremely good for and to me. But it is time to find something new to do. 20 years was enough for me. Seen many places that I ordinarily would not have had the opportunity to see, both good and bad. Just time for a change. Now I only hope to get a few of the projects around the house and garage finished, including the speedster. At least I shouldn't have any schedule conflict for Carlisle next year. Hopefully I will be up for a 20 hour drive with my CMC.
Jim
Jim, me too, looking forward to meeting you at Carlisle 2007. Perhaps we can hook up on the way. Our Southeast caravan for '06 included three cars, two driven and one trailered. It would be great to add more to the drive next time. Listen up, guys in TN, Carolinas, Florida, GA et all! The more, the merrier.

As far as the long drive goes, there are a few long mileage drivers on the site. Jim Ward comes to mind, myself and others I'm certain. I did both Knotts and Carlisle last year and it was quite an experience. Knotts was 2,175 miles each way and I recall that within the first hour of the first day, all I could think of was "what the hell had I gotten myself into?"

I made a breakfast stop near Nashville with Greg Teeple and he joined me for about 80 miles just for grins. As the miles started to pile on, I could really see myself making it and of course I did. I had allowed five days for the trip out for side trips and slower sections like a stretch on US 66 from Seligman, AZ to the CA border. Great stuff. The last two days were short hops.

For the return trip, it looked like there would be a three day good weather window. I made the three long-day drives, and long they were, and was home in time for cocktails on that third day. These little cars rock!

Plan your trip wisely and most of all, plan to have fun.
Hoss

Cory & TC,
Great to hear that both of the turn signal indicator sets will work for your projects. I am extremely partial to projects along the "outlaw" nature. Glad to see someone getting use out of them instead of having them sitting around in the garage collecting dust. If either of you are needing any other parts, just let me know. I have been hording parts around for quite some years for various projects that never seen to get finished. Majority of them have been VW based.
Jim
Hoss,
I'd be honored to tag along with the southeastern group. The drive to Carlisle will be great. I have made frequent road trips of that distance before. Usually it is to pick up or deliver a car. The last time was a 4 day trip up to New Jersey and back to pick up the speedster that I am currently building. It was actually the week after Carlisle '04. I even stopped by Carlisle fairgrounds to get a "taste" of the area in hopes of returning the following year. But the Air Force decided it would be better for me to go play in the giant sandbox in Iraq. Next year, come hell or high water, I will be heading that way hopefully following a few more speedsters.
Jim
Hello Everyone,
Well, while cleaning out my garage I came across a Brand new Corpse Badge that I bought when I had my speedster. If anyone is still interested please let me know. Will sell for 30.00 + shipping. Also have a new never installed camber compensator 50.00 and front sway bar 40.00 for 67 bug (will fit other years as well) Thanks, Larry
