Now that I am finally ready to assemble the wiring harness, I have learded that the wire harness that was supplied with the car (bought car used) doesn't match.
If anyone out there has another for sale or trade, Please contact me at 864-423-6774 or e-mail me at 356speedster@charter.net.

Thanks,
John
I bought the Pain-Less wiring 12 circuit universal fuse/control board (PN 30001). Anything but painless as it does not use the original VW components (flashers/relays) but is more GM oriented. Its a quality product over the 8 circuit 30 year old OEM ceramic fuse components. On the one I bought I still have to obtain and cut wires to everything (lights, etc). JC Whitney has a kit for dune buggies that is $40 which would be a good start - you'd still have to add wiring for gauges. I bought one from VS but it wasn't worth the extra $ over the dune buggie one. I bet the one that came with yours will work but isn't plug-and-play. A wiring harness was a costly $300 option from CMC back in 1990.
