Hi! I bought a pair of mirrors from Greg @ Vintage Spyders, who I'm sure you are aware of...(just a side note)I have always liked the look of those mirrors but never liked the gap between the bottom of the mirror and housing. I cut new mirror glass with a bottom edge the same profile as the fender to give it a more finished appearance and installed over the existing mirrors. I cut them just close enough to still allow for adjustment. What do you think? P.S. loved the add you posted for the yellow speedster

VERY nice redo on the mirror Jesse, what did you use to glue it to the other mirror? Silicone?
Hi Arthur, thanks. I prepped both surfaces with alcohol and applied 3m double-sided tape.
Very slick
That is a very nice job on the mirror Jessie!
Hat.... Where did you get the hat ?
I have one like that only black. I found it on eBay. I think it came from the Philippines.
Hi! my wife got me the hat on E-bay and I think Michael is right, the vender is from the Phillipines
You need to get these white hats made and bring a few dozen to Carlisle or loan me yours and I'll do the job. ~Alan
Hi Alan! I'll look into what it would cost to get a bunch of these hats made. I'm sure the price would get very reasonable when you start talking about a few dozen. Jesse
I just did a search on eBay and couldn't find them.
Maybe Jesse has another way to contact the seller.

Hey Guys! I'll do a search on our E-bay purchase history and see what I can find.
I'm in for a hat. Mirror looks great!
Hats can be bought at vintagearticle.com. Logo looks the same, but not sure about color.
So...Troy, did you find a mirror yet? ;-)
That sure looks at the place. Look at the extra photos. There is a nice 356 profile on the back, above the buckle.
They don't show it but I bought a Speedster patch from them too. They were able to scale it up to cover "Napa" on a bag I got at Carlisle.
It is a little funny that they left a lot of Latin text on the website. Maybe they think it is English.

I like the oval mirror...what did it come from. I got the GT mirrors and had some difficulty with finding the motors to place inside. I finally found that, with some modification, that those from a 2002 Camero will work. I am working on this.

Hi Guys! Jim Kelly is right, that is the same hat at vintagearticle.com. I went into their web-site and clicked on "three more photos" of the speedster cap. It shows the back of the cap with the years of production and car profile. It is the exact cap and has an embroidered trim around the peak, very nice quality for the price.
Terry.
Thanks for pointing out the MAJOR hijacking of my thread! ;-) I pretty much figured that finding a GT mirror was going to be a long shot on here, so I took Jessie's suggestion and ordered one from Vintage Spyders this afternoon.

Yes, and now we can all order hats, too.
Troy,
I don't see the mirror on Vintage's website, how much do they get for them?

Bruce. It's Vintage Spyder not Vintage Speedster. It 's $125, here is the link. http://vintagespyders.com/parts/exterior.html
Greg said there are two styles and mine is the older style. The newer style has a little more room above and below the mirror.
