"WANTED": Speedster Poster:

That "Little Bug" that bit me awhile ago; Has gotten Bigger & Is biting harder!

I`m looking to buy a Good Size Color Poster of a Speedster: A friend of mine has one in his Garage dated back to the Days but won`t part with it!

I have collected pictures, models and other speedster stuff for a while, mostly discontinued stuff.

I did run across three 12x16 prints of a silver speedster screened onto steel while in England a while back. Steel is sooo much nicer than paper. They are out of production (of course) and date back a bit. I sold one last year at Bug-O-Rama for $60 and have one for myself in the garage. Got one left in the original London Baker Street bag I bought it in.

In my garage I have the James dean Silver Spyder gasing up poster (search ebay for "james dean porsche" - sells for $5) and the Janis Joplin peace/flower power 356 "C" Cabriolet (search Janis Joplin Porsche). I also have a matching Janis Porsche musical jewlery box - they have a larger cookie jar too.

When I decorated my garage,I used Porsche calendar pictures that I cut and framed. Check picture below (they are not the best pictures but you get the idea).

Here is the screened steel 12x16 inch poster. I hang mine on the wall with a magnet.

I don't think that is a Speedster but rather a Cabrolet. Notice the higher windshield and the rag top raised above the rear deck. May be wrong but you guys let us know. Nice pic anyway!

My shop has 10 or so now stapled to the ceiling, if only I had known they are worth a few shillings !

Just make one from your favorite old photo--bonus points if you print it out at work. This is one I did just to see how it would come out, the next one I make will cover an entire wall.

PS: Saw an "IM" & "Beck" over the weekend: Pretty Impressed with Both but surely won`t spend $40-$50K on a New Build!! I can get an Orig. Jag E-Type Rdstr for the same $$$ in Exc. Cond: Still getting educated & searching for that Speedster:

Russ, the AVE ART guy ("kispoko" on ebay) also has a red with tan interior Speedster available as well. I have one and it's a nice product - but you'll probably have to spend more than $50 to get it framed, stretched, etc. If you have a particular color requirement, maybe he'd do one up for you?

I would also like to see some larger Speedster posters being made. I hear that some of these copy shops are doing really large prints now....but haven't researched the cost. This might be a good way to get some of our better personal pictures blown up? (I especially like MUSBJIM's silver hood panty picture.....but it wouldn't be tolerated on the home front.) These folks were kind enough to provide a bunch of their posters as awards for last year's Carlisle Speedsters/Spyders show and they were a terrific hit.

Very high quality, and their prices are more than reasonable.

I just heard back from AVE ART: He seems to remember making a "Blk" print a couple of Hundred yrs ago!

He`s checking as of this writing & will advise: He feels pretty certain that he does have the Art Work or whatever to supply a print of the Speedster in "Blk":

I've tried to find this poster again, but haven't had any luck.
I bought it in a Poster shop in Calif. in 1982. It's been diplayed on a wall, where ever I've lived since then.
The Artist signed it "M.Picket '82".

I just got following from local guy via Craigslist -
Porsche OEM Poster Set (5) 996 cutaway,targa,carrera GT,GT2,evolution. These are about 2'x 3' and nicely printed by Porsche. They are all 911 related. I bought solely for the "evolution" one which has a side view of 356 shadowed by a 911 by a 996 --- you can definately see the heritage. If anyone is interested in others (I may keep the cutaway one too). I let go cheap - shipping will be more than cost.
