I am looking for a glass body only for a Speedster or Cabriolet ( or maybe a coupe). I will supply the frame and donor parts. Only a few of the manufacturers have replied to my individual personal requests.  I will not be in competition with them as I am building it for me, not to sell, but I understand.  Thanks in advance for your kind reply.

The RustyTubs fiberglass body pieces are $4k.  They do sell a sub-frame that lets you mount the doors and front hood plus use VW chassis components.  It's extra $ so you could build your own if desired.  I've seen unbuilt kits and kits needing refurb for $2-5k. Using a VW pan does make it easier to register in majority of states.

Gotta laugh as they say "Porsche 356 kit car floor pans JUST LIKE ORIGINALS!"  Duh, the original 356 was unibodied so how can a frame be like it?

The steel sub frame is needed with the VW pan since doors and front hood are hinged to the heavy steel sub structure.  The RustyTubs sub frame is a little different only in that it has the fiberglass floor - you still would need the center tunnel and front and rear chassis hunks.  Or build your own like the MetalCraft folks did back in late 80's - then you could use coil springs and A arm bits for a more modern chassis.
