Mike, I may be able to help post a pic or two.......... A couple of options are ) I have fiberglass blanks and I think unused black DTR cover too...) if vinyl covered you can fill the hole and just get it recovered. If need be, I also have a guy here that makes me sets of door top rails and are reasonable.
Sorry ... it's actually a Hallmark card!
@Alan MerklinI don't know what pictures you would post. I have the fiberglass piece and the old cover with a hole in the wrong place. If you have a cover that would be great. Otherwise, I may try to move the post on the plastic piece.
@WOLFGANG, I marked the holes on the top piece using the holes in the plastic piece but still got it wrong on one side. It must have slipped a bit between hole 1 and hole 2.
Mike, Stand by I am almost certain I have one ...somewhere in the shop, I will look tomorrow and get back to you in the evening . ~Alan
Alan, I hope you're not looking for the one's you sold me last hear...That may take awhile!
I think I have another set....somewhere in the Archives :~)
Since Bill's post I have been waiting with bated breath to see you say that.
You know...... You could always just get some Bondo and fill the door rail and then re-drill a new hole. I think the CMC manual tells us to fill the back side of the door rail with Bondo, too (or some sort of "epoxy Putty").
The problem isn't the hole in the fiberglass piece. It the hole in the wrong place in the vinyl cover.
I do plan to fill the hole in the fiberglass and epoxy putty.
oops.....Sorry. I misunderstood.
Mike,
My apology ..... I got motivated doing a past due bathroom reno......tile floor, vanity / top & plumbing that wasn't leaking until I molested it.....I did manage to get it all back together by 5:30pm I will go out to the shop first am tomorrow ( for sure) and find the cover.
@Alan Merklin, no rush. I won't be using my side curtains for a while. I appreciate your efforts.
Mike, I did find a matching set of black door top rail covers,
I'll send you in case one is different than what you have .
PM me your address and it will be on the way to you. ~Alan
