Do you need the windshield center strut too, or the just mount and mirror that attach to an existing center strut?

Gordon, I think what he is calling a rod you are calling a center strut.

I need the metal tube/rod/strut/thingie along with the mirror and clamp. If what I'm trying works out, I'll need the mounting bits as well to secure the center strut to the windshield and dash.

That little rod is pretty small to be drilling holes into it, TC. Be careful with that drill bit.

I never thought of that, but if I can't find what I need I'll bet that a length of aluminum from the hobby shop and a tiny bit in the Dremel would make quick work of it and look sweet . . .
I need the mirror and rod for the MGA since, with the luggage rack and suitcase sometimes on, sometimes off, I need to be able to raise and lower the rear view accordingly. The MGB has a truss rod to secure the windshield mid point which could be used, but the 356 set-up is a little more vintage and closer to what I'm going for with the car.
If nothing turns up, I can always fabricate something that will work and possibly look the part.
