Hello Members I'm trying to find a quality Chrome shop in Southern California to re-dip my 356 chrome parts. Any idea's?

Be wary, be VERY wary. I will NOT recommend anyone I've ever used in greater San Diego.
Vender aside, you know there are different types of plating? Without researching, I believe that the good one uses a three plating system, including an interim nickel plate? It's been a few years, can someone please verify here?

Thanks Michael - so the interim step was copper, not nickel, my bad. A cheap plater will leave out that step and the "flash" chrome initially looks good but peels off after a few years.
I bet the copper plating step is getting expensive these days (they steal copper wire from industrial sites and home construction sites around here). As I recall, the Clean Air Act of 1970 drove a lot of platers and other chemical processing industries out of California. The few that are left will be pricey, and it all LOOKS the same, so be SURE to get the good stuff.

David,
The interim step is nickel. First copper, then nickel, then chrome.

Yes david I have used a couple in the Pomona area and they skipped a few stages because the chrome was peeling within about four months. I guess I'll have to go with new parts.
I've heard a lot of good things about Paul's in PA. Understand wanting to deal close to home but, after living way up here for close to 30 years now, I'm used to shipping stuff in and out as nothing is available here.
Do the math and you'll often find shipping costs not too bad. Especially when you get quality products or service.

Find someone who makes trips to Mexico - they still do it the old fashion polluting way. No EPA or OSHA there!
What Wolfgang said x2!
Also, Nu-Chrome in Fall river, Massachusetts is still doing plating the "old fashioned" way, but in a new shop with all of the OSHA/EPA/ISO bells and whistles. All of the better classic restoration houses in the East use these guys.
IMO They are the BEST plater on the entire East Coast. I used them for a lot of Cadmium plating, Powder Coating and Black Oxide of computer parts when I was still working (we helped build them to their current size and capability) and we were really picky about quality - they were the only place we found that could meet our specs. consistently.
They ship anywhere, and their prices are reasonable for the quality. I had my Nerf Bars done there in 1997 and they continue to look like new.

Thanks for all the responses I ended up replacing all the lightly rusted pitted parts with new. V/S and JPS prices were not all that bad for new compared to re-chrome.
The tailight crom pieces were terrible on my car. I ordered a set from NLA and the difference was visible right out of the box. I highly recommend the tail light bezels from them.
