Kit Cars LESS THAN FIFTEEN
YEARS OLD.

None are admissible.
This from Page 4 of the PDF document from Transport Canada. This is for importing. As for Intermeccanica, you need to call them and your local license bureau. Seriously it is so difficult that most don't even try. Make sure you can pass this before you buy.
Mine was one of the first CMC's, not sure of the year. But built on a 1968 pan. The car took me a year to bring up to roadworthy code and at the same time needed the provincial police to check it out, apply a provincial VIn number, went 3 times to the inspection garage. All this time the car could not be driven, had to be towed since only licensed cars are allowed on the road. Then the plate, wow what a bitch that was. Took me about 5 visits. Everytime it seems something was missing. But read the PDF doc and make some calls. I really think importing a NEW one is out of the question.
You see transport Canada rules that all cars must have, airbags, shoulder belts, daytime running light, 3rd brake light etc..... unless of course it's over 15 years old for import. Do your homework and you may find that an Ontario car would be best. I found mine on www.autotrader.ca
Here's one from there: www.trader.ca/VillageAuto/Default.asp?Trader=1&CAT=1&mknm=751&Region=-1&adid=4137540&dContact=236772&VLot=/VillageAuto&ADS=4137540%7C&SRVlot=1&SRslts=1&category=1&makeid=751&modelcode=18664&len1=0&len2=0&mknm=751&mdnm=356&Region=-1&subcategory=&alpha=
