I’m reposting to get some additional exposure to my search. Looking for a coupe for daily driving. Must be street legal with bumpers, ... . Since I live in whacky CA I’ve learned not all builds are ‘registerable’ here. Thanks for all your previous support.

You are referring to CVC Sec. 28071, which mandates front and rear bumpers for vehicles registered in CA. Be aware that the same section states that cars designed without bumpers are exempt. My 2013 Specialty Auto-Sports coupe is such a car and I registered it with the SB100 process in 2013.
Jim,
i was totally unaware of this exemption. Thank you
I had a 2007 Lotus Exige S that was exempt to the bumpers thing. Funny thing though, it still had a required rear view mirror. But the only thing you could see was the mid-engine super charger behind your head. I figured the rear view mirror was just there so you would know when the super charger was on fire.

FYI, if your body mold had cutouts for bumper brackets, you would need to fill those in prior to inspection by DMV/CHP.
Here is one. I don't know the car or the guy selling it.
This looks perfect! Just wish it was closer and from a private party.
Thanks for thinking of me!
I hadn’t considered having it ckd. out. Ordered and bought my new Porsche from dealer in Atlanta last year and drove it home, cross country to CA. Amazing road trip-mostly two landed highways. They handled all the registration and paperwork. Not familiar with buying used and getting CA reg., as I’ve heard horror stories. May have to give them a call.
You would be well advised sir , to see one before buying.
The two I have looked at had a very poor 'fit and finish'. Not saying they can not be squared away (sorted), but just so you know.
MotoCarlo, how does one go about finding someone to do the inspection?
He is located about 30 minutes south of Atlanta. I don't know anyone down there. Perhaps google or via the Pelican Parts Forum. Maybe post that question on this forum to see if anything turns up.
The following people are within 50 miles of South Atlanta Motorsports and you would have to reach out to them to see if they'd be interested in checking out the car for you:
I got all excited and called - it was sold/delivered Saturday! Thanks all for your help, I appreciate it.
