I've been looking at these cars for about 6 months and am ready to buy. I live in Virginia, but am having trouble finding access to "used" models. One owner locally is going to show me his VS so I can get a general idea on how the car "fits".

I've located new Becks in Charlotte, N.C. and Hamilton, OH but would like to save money by finding a good previously owned Beck or VS. Prices on the new Beck are right around $23,000. If anybody has information on availability near Va., let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hutson,

Read the post from CBK! He has a "New" Beck up for grabs if no one has snatched it already. Read the postings, could be worth the trip over to inspect and hire a hauler to bring it home. If you're adventurous, even drive it back for the break in period.

Plenty of used to be found on this site.

Good Luck - Mel
Hey thanks Mel! I checked out your car pictures and it's a beautiful machine. I especially like your color scheme. As I was looking at your pictures, I was afraid those shots of a car coming out of the water was yours!!! What is with the caption ref "morons at work"?

Thanks for the compliment. It took a couple of days for me to get used to the color combo, in the end I loved it enough to buy it!

"the morons at work" was a series of photo's that has been passed around through e-mail. The last frames appeared to have been doctored up by the original "artist" It appears that the car and the small truck did suffer similar fate.

I've only had the car since June 04, so far so good with the doors. The construction seems fairly solid with respect to the hinges used by VS. I certainly wouldn't put any undo weight on an open door, but i'm sure even a metal door would flex a little. The door sounds solid enough when closed and takes little effort to pull shut.

Mel

Really not much in any of the doors to rattle (unless you have windup windows). Roar of engine, wind and road noise would mask any rattles. If you are looking for quiet environment then a need to look at Toyotas and Hondas. Guess ya could dynamat the speedster but who wants the extra weight --- the whole reason the Speedster was developed --- light, fun to drive (ok and price competitive (<$4k) to TR3/MGA and Jaguar at the time)
