In the demolition business, Joe? Sure hope so ...
I'm assuming you've looked at ebay auctions? There's a decent-looking red CMC car for sale in Corpus Christi, Texas, right now for $10K with no reserve. I just saw it this morning: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-1955-356-Red-Speedster-Replica-NO-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ110474179073QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item19b8c63201
It looks a billion times better than my car did when I got it -- and I paid a lot more than that for a lot less car. Narrow your search to "356 Speedster replica" and see what pops from time to time.
Also, if my memory is correct, the folks at VS maintain some kind of consignment-style listings of cars for sale. I know they correspond with many of their cars' owners, and if any of them were in the market to sell, I'm pretty sure Kirk and Mary would know.
They also read this board from time to time.

SOUNDS LIKE MUSBJIMS WITH A NEW MILEAGE GAGE
Nah GERD, that car doesn't have the boom box woofer in tha back seat that is constantly playing WAR'S Low rider!
Joe:
I just went through the same search the last 3 months. After looking for some time and with what folks are asking for a used one (most with 1600cc at that price point) spend the extra 4K-5K and get a new one. No dings chips or tweaking. I Just purchased a new VS 2 weeks ago.

dont forget ca sales tax from VS, 9.75% or close to $2200 plus dmv fees of $400.
a used one will cost way less on dmv fees and ive heard of some nefarious buyers claiming car cost $3500, you do the math on sales tax.

Hi Joe.. I will be selling my VS soon and will be posting photos as soon as I finish the up grades (amber turn lights, exhaust mod and up grade to the 2110 engine). Beautiful car and better than new. It will sell for much more than you are looking at, but well worth taking a look at.
Joe...Thom is correct there is 3 speedsters currently in the bay area that are looking for a new home....check them out...
Nice Silver/Tan VS on the Bay.

sorry guys, I decided to go new instead. so I haven't been keeping an eye on the posting. just haven't been able to decide between silver with blue or silver and black... thanks to everyone for all the info...
Hey Joe. Have we spoken? I have a Vintage and I'm in Fresno...well, Clovis actually. If you have any questions just let me know.

PS: Hopefully you are not getting a widebody. The streets in Fresno are just too narrow to have two of them in town! ;-)

I thought "Low Rider" was by Papa Chubby? I've been listening to that alot lately and second-guessing my no stereo in the Speedster decision. Once I get it, I'll make the call. It figures. I think MUSBJIM and I might be twin brothers from a different mother.
Tom, my brutha frum anutha mutha! - I think Papa Chubby did a version of 'Low Rider' by WAR. On another note, if you haven't done so, check out Mike Zito (in the Blues section). I think you'll like his stuff.
Peace - Out!

Jim, thanks for the tip. I just downloaded one of his tunes from iTunes for the ride home.
Tom - see if you can find 'Dirty Blonde' by Mike Zito. Cool blues rift.
...ooops, sorry about the hi-jack!
uh, it would be a good tune to play in either a new or used Vintage Speedster!
