Maybe I'm the last one to discover this, but here's a 40-minute color documentary made in the 1950s showing how pre-A coupes and roadsters were made at the Reutter, Drauz, and Porsche works. It must have been made to recruit new US dealers. The soundtrack's in (American) English and there's even an English statement by Ferry Porsche hisself!
Get something to drink before watching, though - or the hokey music will make you ill.
And pay careful attention to all the steps they took to make sure the cars would never rust.
