Water in Carbs...Rain Hats

I've just finished installing Carey's rain Hats on Merlot's carbs. I decided to replace the plastic oil filler/breather with a metal one I had. Pulled the cap, breather tubing and the breather. A surprise! Water poured out of the the tubing and the the breather! The amount was about a 1/4 cup. So, when you have drowned your carbs in the rain or via a garden hose, be sure to check for additional water in the oil breather system.

Just a little more info for drowned carbs. The engine was just a little hard to start after sitting a few days. Now an OK!

Aaron---very nice job, my friend. I like the matching colors--nice.

I was able to get a pair of rain hats from JPS motorsports. They are carbon fiber and look great sitting on my Type IV engine. I'll show them to you when we get together for the Smoky Mountain event in mid-October.

I believe that a lot of problems could be prevented by usine the rain hats no matter the composition or color.
