Anybody else heading to the Vintage Festival and races this weekend?

I CAN’T MAKE IT. 
We went to Lime Rock Park for the Vintage festival last weekend. Someday I'll make it out to the Glen, but LRP is only 57 miles away. I think the whole crew just drives there straight from Connecticut after the Monday(Labor Day) races.
Danny. It’s been a goal of mine to combine Lime Rock one weekend with the Glen the following weekend, and an in between back roads driving tour, but it hasn’t happened as yet.
It is on my list, and would be a great vacation.
Gordon. Maybe GERD will make it...

Bob, if you DO do that, then add the Unobtanium Open House in Ravenel, NY to the list on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. You miss a day of vintage racing at Lime Rock, but you can head back for Sunday's Concours around the track (shouldn't be missed, at least once - usually 1,000 classics lining the track) and then Monday's Vintage race day, if you're looking for action. The open house at Unobtanium includes a massive pig roast and BBQ with lots of Porsche folks there. Lots of wineries out there to visit, too.

All of those cars were really well set up - They all cornered amazingly flat, especially the Ford Fairlane-Thunderbolt. That was a lot more weight than the Alpha and Cortinas trying to catch it and did you see that the little Lotus Cortina (white with olive green darts) was always catching back up on every turn?
A girl I knew in high school did well in school and was accepted into Nursing school in Boston. Her Dad was very proud of her (and being a US Marine, he named his only daughter "Marine") and for a high school graduation present and to help get her to and from nursing school he bought her a Ford Lotus Cortina with that same side-darts-wrapping-around-the-rear paint scheme. She let me drive it once and I'll tell ya, that little box was one hella rocket. 1,551CC overhead cam engine built by Lotus from Ford and Lotus parts and they were strong, bullet-proof engines.
Kinda wondering how a big car like the Fairlane with a 289 or more and an additional 800 - 1,000 pounds ended up in the same class as 1,500cc Cortinas and Alphas, but that's British racing!
