Hi all

do the butterflys and spindles wear out?? Taken car for a rolling road session and garage came back saying the spindles may be twisted and the butterflys may be worn, so they can't set it up. (carbs have been rebuild by the book by myself apart from the 2 parts in question) the garage have also came back saying would be best to buy new rather than rebuild again. Is this just a sales pitch or do the butterflys and spindles really wear???

Try Webercarbsdirect.com.....I have obtained parts they do not list on their site.....
Generealy, they are very helpful.....I've been running my IDF 44's for 7 years, with copious back fires during cold start ups.....My only problems, after dialing them in, have been traced to ethanol enhanced fuel....No problems since I changed the accelerator pump diaphrams....

Setting up the carb jets and syncing the carbs is ESSENTIAL to smooth performance.....Get a Weber manual and a Snail from CB Performance.....

These carbs are intimidating to a first time user......They really are NOT that hard to set up....
Read the Manual two or three times before you start.
