I actually really really fixed my continuing carb problems. It required a new set of 44IDFs. After installing them and one hour of synching them (and troubleshooitng a problem that turned out to be a mix of mixture screws in the new carbs), I can emphatically say I am done - until the next hiccup.

Anyway, this leaves me with a garage full of stuff I would like to get rid of or loan. You see, when you buy the Webers from CB Performance - it really is a better deal to get the package with new manifolds and linkage - you know it is engineered to work together (I suppose).

I had already bought numerous linkage parts to try to adapt to my old Redline setup to a new CB linkage system. So I have the following if anyone needs anything:
3413R air cleaner base
3414L air cleaner base
3024R air cleaner base
3024L air cleaner base
3014 (2 ea) air cleaner base for use with other linkages
3012 air cleaner tops (2 ea)
21 1/8 hex bars (2 ea - don't ask)
set of 2 ea 5-1/2" threaded rods with heims joints and jam nuts
3406 (2 ea)
Gudgeon pin
3364 throttle sahaft centering springs (2 ea)
3360 swivel Ball Joint and jam nut (2 ea)
3400 Aluminum Linkage Arm (2 ea)
3403 Aluminum Thrittle cable bracket (set screw threads kinda iffy)
I also have the leftovers of my Redline linkage and the manifolds.
I also have the old 44IDFs if someone wants to try to fix them.

Believe me, you can't beat the price. I am gonna throw this stuff out soon - whatever no one wants.

Also, FOR LOAN - how about my jetting kit? Anyone want to save some money by using my jet collection to dial in their carbs? Use it to pinpoint what you need and then send them back - just pay for shipping both ways.

I have
idles 45,50, 57, 60
mains 135, 150, 155, 160
Air 175, 200

Think about it and let me know.

Regards,
Mike

Tired to buy one but the deal fell through (bank refused to give me my own money in a timly manner to buy the car, the story is on spyderclub), so I bought a unfinished Thunderanch Riot.

Thing is, I like building cars more then I like driving them so I bought another project, at least this one is finishable unlike my 917 replica. I think that I am going to simply buy unfinished cars from now on do the work and sell them for a litle profit.

Riot came painted but completely dissasemled. Car is now running and drivable, with about 2 days of solid work and the cage install it will be street legal. (driving it to knott's this ear dad is taking the 356)

I just came into a big stack of cash will be trading the S2000 in for a pruis, sold the 914 and the 850i for some garage space and will be building a 550 kit or suburu powered ultima GTR in the near future if I have some place to park it when I am done.

I would like your 44's if possible as I can rebuild just about anything and have some realy wild ideas machining them if I can get a junk set to play around with.
Stormbringer,

Just a quick note, I notice you and your dad plan on Knotts this year, give John Leader an e mail about that and click on The Replica Rendezvous and the info on register with the AHA people at Knotts. You can get the reistration form within. If you mail it to AHA before April 15, you will save yourself some money. The Speedster Owners group are not charging a seperate admission to our show within a show. Make sure on your form you indicate you will be with us. They will preassign spots for our cars so you won't have to park with a Cobra or Lambo!

Be nice to meet you and your Dad at Knotts.

Bruce
Storm,

I was just wondering as I am pondering whether I want to keep my spyder. Can I ask you what the guy was selling it for?

I am getting my ultimate dream car within the next 12 months and have too many cars (is that possible?). I will probably sell the spyder and 911 for my new ride.

Just curious.

Mike
10K was the price car was a early beck, though in rough shape. Anybody else would have passed it up but I have all the tool's to get it back to top form so the labor would have been free, didn't need any parts. I still want a spyder though so send me a email when you sell yours.

I see the GT40 signature so I can only assume that that is what is coming in. Good luck, if it prices out under 90K I will look at it seriously myself. I feel that there will be a rather large markup on to of MSRP where ever you go though, so maybe a used one could be in my future. Heck it should drive the used viper market down quite a bit, so who know's.

As for knoot's I have to wait a while before regetering to make sure A. that the riot will make it all the way down there under it's own power and B what day I get back fom Hawaii. I do trust my wrenching but it will not have a lot of miles under its belt so it and the 356 might get towed to the show.
Now that would be sweet, there is a company in right now making GT40 roller's though if you can't wait. i know that vip classics in downtown san diego are a delaer, I thnk that you can walk out the door around 55K with a running car. But seriously the last time I talked to them about the project was like 1 year ago. But I know that they had delivered several more then likely they will be at knotts this year.
CVA went BK a month or two ago I heard. Superformance started their project recently. I am watching it because they put out a great product. I am told that it will be availabel late this year at best...we shall see.

I think the San Diego guys were CAV related weren't/aren't they?

Mike
They went belly up, yikes I thought that they had a good bit of cash in the bank to get everything started. I know that VIP has some completed/roller cars sitting on the showroom floor. They had some real amazing work, the cars that they brought to the classic car runoffs on the small island were impressive.

Has superformance released any pictures of the car as it has progressed. I have always been impressed with their work. The cost to quality level is quite reasonable after you get over the initial price shock of going from a FFR style kit.

No pictures as info as such - they don't want to put too much out there before the car is nearing completeion I am told. What has been said is that is going to be as close to teh real deal as possible - warts and all. I have been told by a few sources close to them that it will be a true monocoque tub. Hmmm I wonder if those CAV rollers in San Diego will go for a discount?
