I'm about to change locations and won't have room for a lot of my equipment..... I have a Miller mig welder (225A) for sale with tank and regulator.... It does need a new wire feed assembley ( the "hose" that houses the triger control wire and wire guide.) I'm asking $300.00 for it.... It originally listed for around $2600.00... This unit can handle anything from .032 to .500 inch with ease and thicker with multiple passes.... Wire feed drive wheels, nozzles, helmets (standard types) included...

I ordered a 86mm stroker crank&5.6 rods for my 356.so $$ are gone for a while, it would be nice to have I dont know how long my 28 year old lindie migmaster is going to last. But I use it very little these days 1-2 times a month, but I will need to do the entire chassie on my 356(adding a "birdcage" well sort of kinda, havent finalized any of it yet,) The front&rear will be tied togeather & possiably a A arm front suspension .As well as the body frame done right, as it will have a rear engine mount like porsche did. ( front, mid&rear mounts)
I did a rear-mount, Mark. I actually did two (one ins steel, one in AL). It's a good modification. Make sure your hanger bosses have inserts, and use a lock-tite on them-- they have a tendency to back out.
did you solid mount or rubber or poly? porsche had 4 rubbers on the motor bracket&one on each end of the bar that spamed the frame rails sorry for the thread hyjack, does any body want this welder???how old is it?whats rong with the gun/cord?
What is the cost of the parts needed? I may be interested.
I believe the gun / hose assembley runs around $600.00 for the long version that I use...
The one on the unit has a broken trigger wire and has a "replacement " taped to the out side of the existing "hose".
Do you have a part or model number of the welder, Leon ? Age ? thanks.
I'll get that data 1st thing tomorrow AM......
Its a Miller Matic 200 (not 225) constant potential DC welder.... Rated at 60% duty cycle using 230vac at 40 amps input..... S/n. JH296461.... I could not find a tag / lable stating date of manufacture or sale.... It was originally purchased by a manufacturing company for light to medium use.... Average use was on the order of 6-12 hrs a week... It was purchased just before I was employed there... I know this because no one knew how to do the minor repairs it required with use.... I think It was bought around 1996-97.... I picked
it up when the company ceased production in 2005... I use it maybe 2 - 3 hrs a year....
This unit can be used to power a spot welder also.... Hope this helps...

This is a terrific welder for the home hobbiest. Forget about how many hours it has or hasn't seen, a 60% duty cycle is a monster for the guy at home because it is capable of more work than you'll probably be able to give it. The "nozelhose" that Leon says needs replacing is readily available at almost any welding supply house for around $150 bucks, if you get a non-Miller replacement and where you can get extra copper tips at the same time (you'll need them).
For his asking price you might get a 110 volt "Century" welder at Costco or Sam's Club with a 30% duty cycle which means you'll have to stop over twice as much when welding to let it cool off before continuing, and end up with 1/4'th the welder that his Miller is. I inherited the big-brother TIG to Leon's welder and can tell you that Miller is about the best out there.
Leon, that sounds like a good deal. Wish I had a few extra bucks. But I do have a small 110v no name MIG, been using it for years.
Danny, I'm curious about the no name Mig. I had one and sold it off quickly as I was frustrated with constant jambing of .035 aluminum wire. I installed a new sheath and it still jambed badly. Many adjustments, no joy. Can't remember if a spool gun was available for my mig. Have you any experience with aluminum with your mig ? Flux core...just steel and if so how is the feed on that ? Spool gun etc ?
Mine doesn't jam. It never did. I don't think it can do aluminum. Silver Beauty might be the brand. It is over 20 years old.
