Saw some pretty nice welds on the Facebook page of the guy that bought Jogyver's Speedster. I immediately thought of all the guys on here that need a grinder to make their welds look good. The best I can tell is he is a fireman and he has an affinity for Indian Motorcycles. Looks like he was restoring/customizing an Indian and he posted some weld photos. Not sure if they are his welds or some he got off the net but I thought I'd post them anyway. I did go to the net and steal some others to add to what I found.........................just as inspiration though.

Yes, TIG.
With the radioactive sign stamped on one piece of metal - I'd expect to see some top notch welding! Nuclear reactor or ship/subs reactor cooling system.
Are you sure those are not laces.... really cool and well done... he has an affinity for welding for sure.
Dude.
I bow to the master.
Holy. Freaking. Cow.
Never seen anything like this. This guy must have a super amount of control and focus! I would have to say that this is computer controlled - it's too precise.
Perfection!
I just took these photos to the best x ray certified welder I know: "Robotic - CNC Welder" was the reply.
Yeah, I was thinking that, too - just too perfectly even.
But then, I have seen some people (not very many, for sure) who can weld almost as good as a machine (and sometimes just as well, for short distances). As Wolfgang mentioned, those people are often found doing mission critical work like welded pipe joints in Nuke plants - and then their welds get X-rayed afterwards to make sure there are no weak spots.
MY welds, OTOH, look like "black poopie art".
At least they hold, even if they don't look all that great. This summer I plan to get my TIG welder going, just to play with it and see what it does. Then, I'll have higher class poopie art......
This guy comes pretty close:
I really don't care if a machine, computer, elf, or human did them. They're amazing.

Your correct Alan. I was in the Robotics industry for 23 years and that is how its done.
That zipper weld looks pretty neat!
