I'M NEW TO SOC MET TROY LAST MONTH... I WILL BE THERE IN SLO LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING THE GROUP... LOOKS LIKE A HELL OF A LOT OF FUN..
Gerd.
Did you give Teby your keyboard?
Oh Vince, you cranky old fart. I missed y'all last year, but alas, the stage called... I plan on making the run. I may even have a guest in tow, so do try not to frighten the poor man. If something changes, I'll let you know.
Chrissy you don't need a guest cause I'm going solo this year... :-)
Speedster "D" just saying!
Hi all.
This sounds like a great event coming up. Hope you all have a safe drive and fantastic event.
I would love to have come over, but my wife and I are heading to a cycling event in France.
But will definitely put it in my calendar for next year.
have fun
Bernie
Any chance there is going to be a tee shirt based on the art work used in the link to this thread.

This is the art work I was looking for. Anyone have the high res version good for the silk screeners?
Reservation Made... Fresno Nation going to Slo!! should be a good time.. Guinness anyone?
So...what's the deal on the raffle? Is there still going to be one? If so, when and where? Who and when do I give the stuff to? Which day will it be?
As the punk in Dirty Harry said when Harry had a .44 mag pointed at him, "I needs ta know."

Chrissy, you are brave! That poor man will be tortured, teased, and humiliated before the weekend is over! Talk about great entertainment for the rest of us!
Vince, I was too lazy to read the entire thread - what else needs to be done for this weekend of shenanigans?
Jen
Jen,
The hotel has a happy hour that is suppose to be pretty good, so Friday arrival will simply be at the hotel...Scott is looking into the Diablo power plant run on Saturday for times, and we will all gather accordingly....group pic's at the plant..
Saturday night is set for dinner & Raffle afterwards...
Nothing firm for Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning......
Hey Goofy one....Raffle is saturday evening after dinner...bring whatever you want for the raffle
Sounds like a full weekend. Just my opinion, but I don't think anything else needs to be planned. If you want I can put together a list of suggested things to do that we just distribute to everyone then they can decide what they want to do. I'll include things like the concours and local car gatherings. I think I have a list from last year that I can update.
But if you want an organized activity, I'll help plan it. Just let me know what you want it to be.
What...no Corn Hole?
Jen, If you have a list of local activities, make a few copies & bring it along so that people have a choice if they want to do something off the list.....
Terry obviously wants to be "corn Holed", unfortunetly, the device used in the act of corn holeing
is rather large, (at least for a speedster) but perhaps Terry could bend over & "become the device"
Carrera Coachwerks would love to attend. Are there vendor opportunities? Who is the organizing contact?
Thanks!
I think it would be very cool for MisterAC to join us for this event!
The West Coast SOC gathering is much different from the larger East Coast SOC gathering, in that the East Coast SOC group is a part of an annual National Kit Car event. It is held on a large show-ground with buildings dedicated to vendor booths and manufacture showcase.
West Coast is very informal (loosely structured) and purely a summer cruising event. With a central gathering place/hotel, attendees can choose from a couple of cruise options, or do their own thing (sight-see, antiques shopping, wineries, etc).
The larger number of attendees originate from points in SoCal and rendezvous at various locations on Friday morning (Seal Beach, Malibu, Oxnard).
Just driving one of your bad-ass CC vehicles would be great promotion for the event and your company.
Hope you'll join us!
My wife and I will be attending this year, only our second get together with the group. Last year was a good time and I'm sure this year will be great. Comming up from Riverside.
Hey John - that's great news. Hope you guys can join our SOC caravan in Malibu on Friday morning.
Hey Vinnie - I'll put together a Saturday afternoon cruise for those interested. It will be along a canyon/mountain route and end in Cambria (shopping, antiques, and eateries).
sounds good Jimbo......
missed you at the seal beach show, figured you'd show up....
Vinny, I cruised by there late morning and the whole town was packed, no open parking spots anywhere. I saw Desi cruising home on PCH. Catch you later, my brutha!
Jim, When and where is everyone meeting in Malibu ? Will need to stay Thursday nite up there, so can you syggest a close motel ? Also, do you know Jim and Kathy (Karr or Carr or Kerr, trying ti track them down. Thanks.
Will it be an "up tempo" cruise?
@Scott - Thanx for the route recommendations. I've been checking Google maps for decent roads but its kinda limited info. You set the course, and if needed I can lead.
@Terry - isn't every cruise with Penny an up-tempo cruise. Depending on the number of participants we can determine logistics of splitting two groups on same course (up-tempo group in front).
Hey John - certainly glad you'll be joining the SoCal caravan. We will be meeting at our typical Friday morning Malibu rendezvous - the Topanga Ranch Motel, just north of where Topanga Cyn intersects Pacific Coast Hwy (18711 PCH, Malibu). Meeting time = 10:00AM, departing Topanga Motel 10:30AM. Arrive with a full tank of gas.
I'm not familiar with lodging in the Malibu area (maybe someone will chime in), but anywhere within a 10-mile radius should give you plenty of options (proximity, room rating, secure parking). Looking forward to meeting you and checking out your car!
Jim, I find the motorcycle community a great resource for driving roads.
Great idea, Tom! I've used that as a resource before.
If we end up in Cambria, we should be at Moonstone Beach, & parking shouldn't be an issue along the beach side.....
Unfortunately Kathy & I will not be able to attend this year. Have a great cruise up the coast to SLO and enjoy the event. Jim & Kathy Carr
Jim - that is some bummer news! Will certainly miss you & your beautiful wife at this year's event.
I agree with Jim Jim. Diane and I will also mis seeing both of you this year. If things change, hope you can make it....John.
Finally I booked my room, starting to get excited about the gathering.
Eddy
Eddy, looking forward to seeing you in SLO.
