Hey....THIS will be my first year...I'M SYCHED!!!  I'll need to read this thread...but I am starting in Sunnyvale and would love to join those coming from the North.  My 356 repl is running OK and likes cooler days than hotter days...whose doesn't.

My wife booked us at the Q.Suites for fri and sat.  ....now I will reeeaaad.

Gary

As with everyone....I intended coming but procrastinated til last minute.  I have had a lot of fun with my go-cart...and hope to enjoy the group gathering.

Thanks..to the organizers...it is not easy to 'herd cats' and this is comparable.

It will be fun to see other tubs...I've only seen one more than mine...in person.

Seeya.

Very cool video....  Yes, we are looking forward to meeting everyone.  I have a flight to San Diego for work on Sunday morning so we will be heading out Sat. afternoon back to San Jose.  It will be short but sweeeet... the cars look gorgeous.

Mine is a piece of @#$ compared but all in time.  My wife will be the one looking for the MUSLIM..haha.  Her English is approximate.

Thank you for the welcome...  "the axis of evil".  Perfect. I like to keep a foot in the door as far as branding is concerned.  I'm happy to see Vince is styling the horns. Many of my deciples often ditch the horns claiming they are not PC!!   Lol lol lol

it will be good fun.  Cant wait to meet.

Why am I not seeing all kinds of posts about our west coast meeting?  It's only a week away and there should be all kinds of chatter about it.  I hope I'm wrong and I'm sure that those of us who attend will have a great time, but I'm starting to get an uneasy feeling about how well the attendance is going to be.

Just checked the extended weather forecast for SLO and it looks like we can expect the low 80s for the weekend.

Hey everyone,

Not to worry about this years event.  Last I checked we had 24 rooms booked under the SOC Group.  I think turnout is going to be fine given that several folks have expressed they would be staying with friends in the area.

As far as the power plant tour, I think I'm gonna scrap that idea.  They were requiring quite a bit of personal information on a form to be faxed a week in advance.  I didn't anticipate that anyone would be willing to supply me with their SSN and Date of Birth so I cancelled for this year.

I set up dinner up the street at Pappy MacGregors which is an Irish Pub and Restaurant.  The location is within a block of the hotel for those who wish to walk or stagger home.  The restaurant worked with me and allowed us to have separate checks.  Past experience has been good even with large groups ordering this way, so we should be fine.

For Saturdays events, I've consulted with Vince and we've decided to start the drive at 10:00 am.  I will have some stopping points set up with a lunch spot where we can all take pictures if we want.  From there, I have several different routes planned so there will be something for everyone.

I will set up the restaurant to start accepting us around 6 or so for those who want to hit the bar or start ordering appetizers.  Dinner should be sometime after 7 PM allowing everyone to relax and have plenty of time to get ready.

I set this weekend up to have something for everyone.  It's not set up to make everyone follow some strict schedule or agenda, although we will have some times as guidelines.

When everyone talks about this event, I hope they can say the only thing they liked better than the event was the people they got to hang out with.

In other words, everyone relax and get ready to have a great time!!

Vince:  Please try to get me an approximate headcount if you have it, so I can give the lunch locale an approx number so they can be prepared for us... I can guesstimate the dinner crowd at around 50-60 people based on the hotel count.

Anyone who has an interest in being a drive leader, let me know.  I might need a few depending on what everyone decides at lunch.  I plan on throwing out the different ideas before we start driving so everyone can make their decision at lunch as to what direction they want to head.  We can split up or stay together after lunch.  Again, I have something for everyone!

I am bringing tickets for a raffle that we can have at the restaurant, so please bring an item for the raffle if you so desire, I will be bringing a few things, and any money collected will also be raffled off as a prize at the end...

Although I got volunteered to plan this years event, Scott C is a local to the area and has connections to get most of this planned, so a really big thanks to him for doing this...

Jimbo, were you able to get a map of the area so everyone has a clue as to where we will be driving?????

being somewhat computer illiterate, I couldn't find a condenced version map of the area, so if you have a GPS, Atlas or local map, bring it.....

Scott, thanks for putting this together and doing all the heavy lifting.

Vince, thanks for standing around and looking pretty.

Really looking forward to the event since I missed last year.

If there are self-directed maps I'll be happy to lead a group. Of course, i can't guarantee that I won't miss a turn or two.

I'll bring one or two items for the raffle - are we able to bring alcoholic beverages for prizes?

Troy, not to worry about a small turnout - I'll be there!

Unfortunately, GERD will be there as well...
