All I can say is that I'm glad everyone pulled off such a great weekend!  I appreciate all the thanks, but everyone who attended should give themselves a big pat on the back for making this such a fun event!  And, hell, we even put up with GERD for the whole weekend... Miata and all!!  BTW, the restaurant video is being reviewed by SLOPD due to some misappropriation of copper.  Anyone know anything about that??

Thanks to everyone for participating.  I really enjoyed meeting all the new people.  Hope we didn't scare anyone off and they plan to attend the whole thing next year.  Maybe we can even get some of the locals to make the 20 mile drive and participate also!

It sounds like I may have a hand in the planning for next years event so I'll get started right after my retirement party.  If anyone has any thoughts, suggestions or ideas, please feel free to drop me a line at 8zero5-two2four-zero5eight 9.  Or e-mail me at hammerin at gmail dot com.  I can't guarantee any major changes since the feedback so far has been to not change anything.  However, I would like to continue to improve (including the attendance) and am open to anything anyone wants to suggest.

In the meantime, I'll see you all next year if not sooner for some!!  I'm now going to rest my liver....

BTW,,,for those of you who are Internet saavy, you may want to post some positive reviews for the hotel and/or the restaurant(s).  I think the staff at the Quality Suites was great and the prices for those rooms was very reasonable considering the area.  I know the staff at the restaurant/ bar would love the positive reviews since they have only been in business there for about 3 years and are still trying to build their business (Pappy MacGregors).  I would imagine they are on Yelp if anyone else is.

Thanks!!

This was the second trip for Diane and me, and we had a wonderful time. What a great chance to see old friends and make some new ones. My hat is off to Vince and Scott for putting together a great time, and to the hotel staff and management for supplying a fine place to stay. Saturdays dinner and raffel were also fantastic. Thanks again everyone for a swell time...John

Well, I gotta say I had a pretty good weekend....

I want to thank everyone who made the trek to SLO this year, the group may have been smaller than usual, (for all kinds of reasons), but I think everyone who did come had a damn good time, and if they didn't, can't imagine why not.

The hotel was perfect for this type of activity, restaurant within staggering distance of hotel and extremely accommodating. Food at both locations more than adequate.

Scott deserves all the credit for this event, it was perfect for this group and it looks like this will be the same basic location for 2014, for the actual 10th annual.....

I will have shirts printed for that event....

I did not edit the following pic's, they came right out of the camera, so some may be duplicates from the ones already seen, but pay special attention to the one of Gerd holding the bottle of wine, check out the label....

Special thanks to Troy for that.....

Thanks for the great time!

Scott, good job! Great venue, tour and restaurant picks.

Vince, thanks for the laughs. It wouldn't be an event without you.

My brother, Kevin, really enjoyed it, he's still talking about it - he never stops talking...

Though it was a smaller gathering it made it easier to connect with everyone.

Jim & Ginny, Blake & Jen, GERD & Carol - always a pleasure to see you.

We'll see you next year but, hopefully, you'll make it to the third annual Tour d'Hoe in September.

It was a great weekend and we had a wonderful time.  Thanks to everyone for making my girlfriend Sally's first Speedster event so special.

Here is a link to the pictures I took.

In the two ocean photos, those are Elephant Seals laying on the beach.  It's hard to appreciate how large they are, but they get up to 13 feet in length and 4,500lbs.

When the "Officer" (girl cop) walked in the room, I thought someone had ordered a stripper for us, but to my suprise, she ended up being a real cop. I was saddened by this turn of events, since I was already unbuttoning my hawaian shirt, when I realized she was there officially to arrest Gerdddd for public drunkeness....

unfortunetly we had an officer partying with us and when this fact was realized the cuffs came off....

to bad really, since he deserved to be behind bars, and I don't mean the kind with bottles of alcohol...

Yup - there will always be more meets but there is only one mom. That's mom over here people not mum. Over here mum means to keep things quiet - and I don't know about your mom but mum wouldn't describe my mom - she never stops talking...

"That's mom over here people not mum"

You mean down there.  Up here, many of us say 'mum' as opposed to 'mom'.

Regardless, Theron's mother is out of the hospital, and hopefully feeling a lot better.
