Alcohol, erasing memories one at a time!! Lol

I HOPE U HAVE FINISHED YOUR 3 SHIFTS AND ARE RETIRED. AS U R AS SENILE AS VINCE. OTHERWISE U WOULD HAVE REMEMBERED THE CONVERSATION THAT I HAD MY BOAT WHISTLE AT THE TOPANGA MEET IN MALIBU AND JEN STOLE I REPEAT STOLE IT OUT OF CAR. I THEN STOPPED OFF AT SPORTS CHALET IN OXNARD AND BOUGHT THE FLAT EMERGENCY WHISTLE I GAVE TO MY PARTNER IN THE 67 BUG RYAN. I DIDNT OFFER THE MIATA TO VINCE HE TRADED ME THE TRUCK FOR IT.

Scott & Vinny put on a great show.  There was really no reason to stagger away from the  hotel except for the friendly restaurant, some wine at Pomar Junction and the Pozo run for lunch & fun.  A great trip! Many thanks to them both and their spouses.

I probably don't need to say it, but I'm going to anyway - Blake and I had a GREAT weekend! (Hey Gerd notice how I used the caps with intention, not just to sound like a cranky old deaf man who yells at everybody). Hanging out with Ryan was the highlight of the weekend. It's about time we finally get someone in this group with real depth and intelligence.

Thanks again Vince, Scott, Terri, and Marlene for organizing a great weekend. And thanks to everyone who made the trip. It wouldn't have been nearly as fun without all of you!

Fantastic picture of Vince!  Someone needs to slap that on a bottle of wine, Troy.

Kim and I had a fantastic time with all y’all.  We walked in not knowing what to expect, and walked out happy and exhausted from a consistently awesome weekend.  Thanks so much to Vince, Teri, Scott, and Marlene for putting it all together.  And thanks again to Teri for fixing the raffle.

Scott, Marlene, Ryan, Greg, Roy, Bob, Jim, Ginny, and Gary, limping back to base camp with you guys was a blast…  It helps that  SLO has well-placed taverns.  Roy, thanks for goin’ on the Napa run Sunday morning.  Gerd, Carol, Blake, and Jen, I really appreciate you caravanning home with us.  Everybody there was incredibly cool to hang out with and supportive of us newbies.  Were it not for you, it could’ve been a rough weekend -- with dour implications for future husband-wife cruises.  As it turned out, Kimmee was game for rollin’ up to Angeles Crest on Wednesday.

The only thing of note from our trip home is that we’re pretty sure we’ve got more in our top gear than a Miata (yeah, Gerd, you heard me), which is to say that we got back safe and sound.  By Monday night, we had a new coolant overflow setup (using a fuel line hose) and a totally debugged HVAC system.

Below are some pix from the weekend.  They’re in no particular order, but it’s worth noting that slides 50-53 show the new coolant overflow setup, the ride fixed, detailed, and bubble gum waxed in our garage on Monday night, and a shot from atop Mt. Wilson on Angeles Crest from Wednesday.

To the SOC community, we’re excited to join you.  Newbie post with a bit more background coming soon.

Cheers,
