Hey Dave (and any others who may have missed the group rate deadline),

Last Saturday, I booked a couple "provisional" rooms through the Quality Suites website (i.e., without using the SOC group code) in case my brother-in-law wants to join me again this year.  May have gotten lucky, but I snagged double queen rooms for $3 more per night than our group rate...  Which is to say, if you missed the deadline, all is not yet lost.  That place has a ton of capacity!

http://www.qualitysuitesslo.com/

Hope to see you there!

Another option is contact Roy McIntyre and see if he already canceled his room.  If not, you can work out a swap like we did last year between Leong and Stewart.  One has to call and cancel while providing the name of the new guest and then the new guest has to call within a short timeframe to place their card on the room.  Voila!  It's like magic and nobody knows the difference...

Scott,

I absolutely LOVE that idea -- Speedster shirts now constitute about 30% of my wardrobe, and that is not a complaint!

The designs look fantastic.  If you're looking for other ideas, why not your "ROAD DOGS?"

Either way, count me in for a reasonably large order, and PLEASE don't forget to let us know how to pay when the time comes.

And when Tom says "reasonably large" he means XXXXXXXXXL if you have them, but with a nice athletic taper!

Do you guys want to runs some shirts for this event, here the ideas I came up with but we can do anything, also white shirts might be cooler on the hot day.

Scott,

I always like the shirt idea, but I'll take some liberties and speak for everyone,,,make sure you charge enough for the shirts that you at least break even!  I like the designs, but preferably on the back if possible.  Maybe a small WCC 2018 logo on the front pocket?

Of everyone counted in so far, I'm only missing 3 dinners.  If someone can reach out to Kirk and Mary Duncan to confirm they're still coming and in for dinner? My last one is Dave Mitchell if anyone has Dave's contact info.

So far I have 59 confirmed and 56 dinners confirmed.  Of course once the Murtaugh clan confirms, that number will go up by another 10-20!

I'll send Dave a text.

Important Update----

Dinner will be $50 per person.

Included in the dinner price is a surprise gift, complete BBQ dinner with dessert and all drinks incl beer, wine, soda and water.  It will also cover a large portion of the alcohol for Friday night after the freebies end.

I've spoken to OCC (Scott) regarding the T-shirts and he will be charging $10 per shirt.  for simplicity, I will be collecting for dinner and T-shirts at the same time.  I know the design hasn't been finalized yet, but if you're like me, you aren't too picky (hell, I hang out with GERD) and you know how many you want ahead of time.  If not, hold off until the design is set and you feel comfortable paying for everything at once.

Anyone who chooses to pay now can PayPal me to hammerin@gmaildotcom.  Please be sure to add the additional fees if you don't gift the money and secure your account with a bank account (See PayPal fee schedule).

If you have any questions or want to make other arrangements to pay, please feel free to PM me or email me at the above address.  My cell is 8zero5-two3four-0five8nine

@OCC

Scott,

If nobody weighs in on the shirts, we might have limited interest.  Let me know your minimum number of shirts to make this work.

As far as the design, I like the idea of making the shirts white and using the old logo with 2018.  If you start getting feedback, I’m okay with whatever the group decides.

Thanks for taking on this task.  I do have some folks who have paid for shirts with their meals so I’ll get that info to you.

Scott

Yo @OCC Scottt, how far along are you regarding t-shirts this year?

I fully understand if it's too far down the line. But if you're still figuring it out, I'd like to throw this in the mix.

Legendary Porsche driver Dan Gurney died in January this year. Below is a one of his more famous shots in a Speedster. I had a vector version mocked up for personal use, but if it's not too late, it might be fun to include in this year's WCC t-shirt.

The actual t-shirt mockup is just something I quickly threw together, to get an idea of one direction it could go.
