Take another look at that bottle - it's a Cab Sauvignon ...NOT Cab Franc. There are BIG differences between them...in all respects: cost; varietal; taste; color; etc.; etc.; etc. It scores about 92 pts.   View This Reply

My wifey and I left the hotel with a mission to stop at Brass Bear Brewery that we found last year heading home. It’s a small little brewery in Santa Barbara. Great beer. Great food.

As we were driving down, I noticed my wifey slow and then I see Bill and Natalie (outlaw Speedster) on the side of the road. We pulled over to help. @GERD and his wifey were there and Blake and his wifey. Bill had a right rear flat tire

I’m not sure who’s tire repair kick it was, but it was a compressor that pushed sealant and air at the same time to seal the hole and put air in the tire. It wasn’t working. When we looked at Bills set-up, he has wide-5 rims... well... my Eleanor has the same and I have a Vintage 190 4.5” rim with a spare tire on it in my frunk. BOOM!

We pulled out my spare tire, jack (which we ended up needing a GERDs Volvo one... which I will now carry a few 2x4’s for additional height), tools, and went to work! Several minutes later, Bill and Natalie were on their way home.

I haven’t used the spare, so I followed them for several miles - had them pull to the left so I can see the rim and tire rotate - all was good and they headed home

I should note, my tool kick is based on Doc Clocks checklist

Got word from Bill and they got home safe.

My Eleanor got me home safe and I think I got a little better mpg without the spare

Regardless of how much time passes when we physically get to shake hands and hug, this little SOC madness is family. Family takes care of family. We should never forget that! I even heard Greg honk his horn has he drove by AND text AND call to make sure we were good to go.

Thank you *LongFella. I remembering seeing a posting years ago when I started with the SOC site but can't find it under the search tool. Looking at mine, I'm concerned its too  much of the wrong tools. I had started setting aside the common tools used during garage repairs but the dam tool bag is getting way to heavy.

I have the EMPI hard shell tool kit, similar to the original VW kit plus a 12mm wrench. I also carry a spare fan belt, clutch cable, accelerator cable and a couple of quarts of Brad Penn.  If I need more than that, a AAA flat bed to to Anthony's Auto Werkes will suffice. Actually I would probably just call Tony in the first place. 

Scott (@OCC), thanks so much for printing the poster! I finally got around to hanging it this weekend. I’ll see it every day now.
