Ryan, if you want a sweet road rally kinda drive, check out route 25, Airline Highway:  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wik...ornia_State_Route_25  You can catch it off of Pacheco Pass and hammer all the way down to King City. Likely to see a few exotics along the way. I remember watching Dave Mitchell outrun a 930 Turbo in his IM6 on that road...

That looks like a great route @Terry Nuckels. I vaguely remember driving through Hollister before.

I was going to take 49 all the way down to Oakhurst (south entrance of Yosemite), then 41 down to SLO. Maybe I'll take 25 on the way back up.

Any thoughts on Rt 49 & 41?

@Ryan (formerly) in NorCal, I won't make it to SLO this year, but I've mapped out a back roads Speedster route to Santa Nella - just click on this link. I like this so much better than I-5 that I take it now to get to Monterey, no matter which car I'm driving.

From Santa Nella, continue on 33, then take 152/156 to Hollister. More direct, and quicker than 49/51, but you still avoid the freeways, except for 152/156 over Pacheco Pass.

I still haven't done Airline Highway, but it's on my bucket list.

who do i mail it to

@Terry Nuckels and @Ryan (formerly) in NorCal might be close to you. Maybe one of them can pick it up or you could take it to them. Otherwise if you send it to me I can take it to SLO. You'll just have to package it up real good to keep it from getting damaged. Probably best to separate the car from the box and wrap it then flatten the box so it can be reassembled.

robert M  Pm me ur address and ill mail it

Let me know if I missed you or counted wrong!  Dinner plans are being finalized and I'm going to start collecting money so I can pay the caterer in full by the 26th.

Tonight I'll post the details on the days events and how to pay.

For those who want to know...

Saturday the 10th is cruise day.  The plan for now is to start at the Vet's Hall as usual at 10 am and head north from there.  Plans can change, but for now the plan is to drive like nobodies business and cruise around the north county until we hit this little gem...

http://www.tincitypaso.com/

Not only will everyone have a chance to sample some area wines, but you can also try some local craft beers or hard ciders.  Lunch will be here as I've made arrangements with a local eatery for tacos prepared to order at their stand in front of Cider City.  They have several choices of tacos including one vegetarian option if desired.  Parking will be on the street and is plentiful at the time we arrive at 11:30 am.

From there, we will gather up and continue our drive through the windy roads of Paso Robles under the oak canopy.  Our next stop will be a winery in Paso Robles with those not caring to join us, I'll have other driving options available.

Dinner is at 7 PM with a 6 PM cocktail hour.  This years dinner is a complete BBQ dinner with ribs, chicken and tri-tip along with all the fixin's like mac n cheese, green salad, potato salad, baked beans, garlic bread etc.  Beverages and dessert are included.  I'll also have beer and wine included as well.  Price is $40/pp. The restaurant catering us has been featured on the Food Network show Man vs Food.

I currently have 60 people counted in for dinner.  I am paying up front for all the dinners so please have your money to me by May 26th when I will be paying.  You can email me for my address or use the same email to PayPal me the money for dinner.  PayPal is preferred, but please use the following guideline so I don't get charged fees...

"It's free within the U.S. to send money to family and friends when you use only your PayPal balance or bank account, or a combination of their PayPal balance and bank account.

There is a fee to send money as a personal payment using a debit card or credit card. The fee in the U.S. is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you send. For example, if you send $100.00 USD by credit card, the fee would be $3.20 USD ($2.90 + $0.30).

My email address is hammerinatgmaildotcom and this is the same email for my PayPal.

Let the fun begin!
