Okay,,,this is the part I hate about putting this thing together.  Tracking down money!  For those who've paid or tracked me down and made arrangements...THANK YOU!!

Less than 2 days to go to get your money in unless hot dogs is your choice.  I'm missing money for 8 dinners.  If your name is on here or you can reach out to these folks, I need the money within the next 40 hours (midnight Thursday the 25th).

Galvan, LaFont, McIntire and Morris

If you've decided not to come, please let me know and I'll stop trying to get people to contact you.  This will be my last attempt since I'm starting to sound like a broken record.

Speaking of broken records, I've received some payments via PayPal that were short a couple dollars due to fees.  Please read the following so I don't get charged fees...

"Sending money – Personal payments:

It's free within the U.S. to send money to family and friends when you use only your PayPal balance or bank account, or a combination of their PayPal balance and bank account.

There is a fee to send money as a personal payment using a debit card or credit card. The fee in the U.S. is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you send. For example, if you send $100.00 USD by credit card, the fee would be $3.20 USD ($2.90 + $0.30)."

Okay,,,someone bring back the ladder!  I can't get off my soapbox!

I'm eating fees here folks!  If you're unable to use a bank or PayPal balance, please send $42/ pp to cover the fees. Thanks!

You know what they say!  Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile!  Nice job "tech support!"  Actually, I'm pretty sure you're a low tech guy in a high tech world, but at least you're not gonna be eating hot dogs!! Great job!!

**UPDATE**

1) Everyone but one has paid for dinner so far.  Seth356, I've PM'ed you, but no response.  If you get this in time, PayPal me before tomorrow morning.  If you miss it, there are definitely some worthwhile options and you'll still be involved in the dinner with us.

2) The hotel is completely booked!

3) The dinner will be finalized and paid for tomorrow as requested by the caterer.

4) All adult beverages will be sitting nice and cool in my casa until the WCC weekend.

5) The drive and lunch are set in soft sandy stone!

6) Last thing,,,I have good news and bad news!

First the bad news...

We lost our after dinner entertainment to engine trouble.

The good news (not really)...

GERD is gonna get really, really intoxicated and become the entertainment!

@Dave (Speedster "D") Galvan now you're talking my language.

(3) Hoyo San Juan's should last the entire ride down.

I have smoked cigars in all my cars over the past 20 years.  But I have not smoked in my speedster since I bought it in March '17.  My concern is with no side windows, my ash will fly everywhere.  Which may lead me to purchase some of Troy's CRUZIN windows sooner rather than later.

Lunch Destination and Beyond!

Everyone I assume saw the lunch destination being Tin City with the taco trucks and cider houses, ale houses and wine tasting rooms?!

The goal is to allow a couple hours there to let everyone eat and wander around before we continue on our oak tree canopy filled cruise along the back roads of Paso Robles to our next destination for those who want to experience the beauty of Halter Ranch Winery.  See their website at http://www.halterranch.com/

The drive is beautiful and the winery is amazing with it's rustic setting and covered bridge spanning the creek that separates the road from the tasting areas.

Because this group is now officially considered a "large group" by most venues, it's now getting tougher to just drop in on these places without prior arrangements.  With that comes a monetary commitment.

I would like to know who would like to attend the second half of the drive to Halter Ranch and, more specifically, who would like to taste there.  At the urging of Terry Nuckels, who's experienced the winery, I've made a deposit to hold a reservation for us at the tasting room. The deposit also pays for the tastings which are $15/pp.  So I currently have 10 spots guaranteed, but they will adjust if I get more commitments.

Again, take your best guess if you or your side seater would care to taste at Halter Ranch and I'll try to get the numbers closer to keep them happy.

GERD and I aren't going to make it this year.  We just booked an extended offshore vacation that week!!  OCC Scott, can you ship our T-Shirts to an undisclosed anonymous postal box?  Hey you CROOKED ACCOUNTANT, don't forget your sunscreen!!!

BwaHaHaHaHa!!!

Just kidding!!!  Don't forget to count in for wine tasting at Halter Ranch.  I need at least 10-15 folks and I'm at 6 now.

Also, for all the folks who like to drink wine on Friday or Saturday evening with the group.  I would suggest packing a couple of your own wine glasses as the wine never tastes quite as good out of the cheap plastic drink cups.  Another option is most tasting rooms have the plastic stemless traveling wine cups for sale in their tasting rooms.

I also have a surprise bonus gift for everyone! Just crossing my fingers for on time delivery!!

In regards to the wine tasting, do they allow 2 year olds? My wifey and I would love to join, but we are not sure if they will allow a toddler running around... maybe or maybe now grabbing bottles and smashing them on the ground

As Will said, the tasting rooms are family friendly and this one is no exception.  I'll count you two in.

Doug, I've got you down for 1 also.

Thanks guys!

Somehow I missed this thread. I was commenting all to my lonesome in the 2017 SOC West Coast Gathering thread.

This newbie has a few questions:

1. Can I get a rough overview of the schedule? At least how it's shaping up so far? If I ever go off script (likely), it would be nice to know where I can catch up.

2. Also, is there time for, or interest in, a Highway 1 drive between the landslide closures via Nacimiento-Fergusson Road? Looks like a unique time in history where we can get Highway 1 all to ourselves. More on that here. Also, here are the Current Road Conditions CA SR-1 (ca.gov). You'll want to keep that link handy.

Wrong thread!  That was the Are We Having a West Coast Cruise? thread.  That was put up by Nuckels just for that reason, to see if he could throw anyone off track.  It worked!! LOL

I'm pretty sure we have the itinerary listed somewhere in this thread and I'll go over it Friday night and Saturday morning, but here goes.

9:30-9:45 am meet at the SLO Vet's Hall.

10 am leave Vet's Hall and head north on Hwy 101 to Hwy 58 where we'll wind around a specailly chosen route through Creston and into Paso Robles arriving at Tin City by 11:30 am.

11:30-1:30 eat lunch and shop in Tin City (along with some beverages)

1:30 leave Tin City and drive another specially chosen route to Halter Ranch Winery.

Last leg of the cruise is up to the individuals with recommendations made so no one gets lost.

We'll be sure that you don't get lost.  If you can drive 35-55 mph you'll be fine.
