As I posted yesterday, this Nuckelhead will be there with my brother, Kevin.
Of course, Penny will be there as well.
The Murtaugh family is planning a show of force. We'll drive the Speedster, which is currently being sorted by Alex Salazar and Roland Rascon, and our Lexus RX chase car. Attendees will be the lovely and talented Kimmee, our brother-in-law's mother, Anne, baby Charlie, and me (we reserved two rooms). We expect to arrive on Friday and depart on Sunday. Additionally, I'm in the process of lobbying a few college buddies, one of whom rolls in a '73 911, to join us as well. We're really lookin' forward to it!
Just checked the mileage, Jim, and I think >2600 miles 
might make if tough to do as a weekend trip
. Guess the Speedster and I will stay on the east coast.
Seriously though, one of these days if I ever have another bidness trip out there near a weekend, a cruise with you guys would be a blast.

Jim, Alice and I would love to do a second trip to the West Coast event. The only thing holding us back is to find one or two other knuckleheads to caravan with us. You would think with all the exceptionally prepared high-dollar Speedsters we are seeing come on line at least one or two would want make the trek with us. I guarantee they will never forget such a trip---we certainly haven't.
Maybe next year or even if someone wants to do it this year I'm game. Vince owes me at least a scotch anyway and I intend to collect.
Jack, I think I may take my son with next year. He will be 18 an out of HS. I mentioned it lightly and he has asked me a few times now. That would be a pretty cool father-son journey.
We can hook up part way next year. Even as late as it is now I'd still go this year if I could get one or two others to join up. That trip is a once in a lifetime experience in a Speedster!
So is it typical to run with the top up on long distance trips like this would be?
i'm in Phoenix, had my VS for a year and have never yet had the top up. The SLO trip in June means crossing the desert and that's a brain baker with the top down.

Do yourself a favor and buy a white long bill ball cap, and some sunblock. Driving these things with the top up is not fun, even for short treks.
