Teby,

"Patina" is one thing but when a rare book such as this is missing so many pages along with those infamously historic illustrations, when the binding is beyond salvage, and a hazmat crew would be reluctant to examine it without a lab test...then perhaps "patina" is a term more suited to the world of almost salvageable cars.  I reluctantly passed this opportunity to own a true treasure of historic importance only because its condition rendered it completely valueless.

PS  I cried uncontrollably on the long drive home

Roy

Okay,,,we're finalized!  Lunch is set in stone as was dinner last week.  For those who paid via Paypal,,,Thank you!  For the rest, please bring cash or a check (except GERD who is listed as "CASH ONLY").

Lunch was $20/pp and I have received payment for 7 of the 46 lunches.  Those who paid so far are Norton, Nuckels, Rion and Segal.  If you thought you paid, I haven't received any others so you may want to check.  I'm still trying to get the price of dinner down a bit so I don't have the grand total, but should be somewhere between $15 and $20/pp.

If you haven't paid yet, don't send it now unless by Paypal, but a check for all might be better since I can have a better idea of the total with dinner.  Cash just means my wife is going to ask to go shopping and GERD is gonna offer to be my accountant!!

See everyone soon! Safe travels!!

Scott

You have to make it,,,you're the poster child for the newest "Feed an Underfed Child" fundraiser I'm doing in this area.  I'm planning a video shoot to go to commercial by mid-July and it's too late to find another scrawny actor to fill in for you!

This guy's available:

GERD

But I agree GERD is a bit skinnier so it'd draw more sympathy from donors.

Oh, I see we have ourselves a real Keyboard Commando here. You better bring enough lunch money tomorrow so everyone can steal some.

I'll let you know. See you tomorrow. Oh, that's right, you're not going.

Kathy and I stopped by the Quality Suites yesterday on our way home to Atascadero after working on the speedster (firewall installation).

Teby greeted us along with Robert and after showing us their cars, we joined the group in the courtyard where we met Terry Nuckles, Jim, Scott and many others whose names I can't remember (it was happy hour after all).

What a great group of folks! Scott invited us on the run today but a yellow Prius just seemed wrong for the speedster run.

Maybe we'll have Whitecloud on the road by next summer so we can join the gang "for reals".

Will

Missing you guys.

Alexis and I spent the day in the sun watching baseball. 100 degrees here today.  Now we're waiting to see a play my daughter is performing in.

Oh.. and the clutch cable just broke on the Speedster as I pulled into the lot.

Somebody please help Scott home tonight. I had to carry him home last year.

Ted

Nancy and I just got back home after spending the rest of Sunday in Avila Beach with Roy McIntyre, Greg McIntyre, Larry Bull, and the Cramer Family Scott, Marlene, and of course Ryan. We waited out the heat and man was the drive home nice.

A big shout out and a thank you to Scott and Marlene for organizing another great weekend of cruising and stuff.

For the Big Sur group, "Way to hang tough.".

Thank you to everyone who came out and participated and to those who donated raffle stuff for the raffle. Scott aka OCC, thanks for all of the great t-shirts you donated and the iron on transfers.

Thanks to Bruce aka Aircooled for donating some of his cool parts/inventions for the raffle.

For the newbies that won all of the raffle prizes, just wait until next year, Vince will make sure all of your tickets get thrown away.

Thank you to Terry Nuckels for signing Teby's book, "Road Trip, Don't Trip" and 5"x7" glossy photo thereby increasing the value of such a rare book to an astronomical level.

To all of the newbies to the cruise, I hope you had a great time and were welcomed by everyone. And by everyone I mean everyone except GERD.

To GERD - Here's that "U" you've been trying to get Scott and I to buy:

And Vince, would you please explain the raffle one more time, another newbie came in late.

Probably my last post until next Feb or March, so here goes...

Thanks to everyone who came and had a good time.  It's the people, not the cars, that make this event so much fun and keep me organizing it each year (at least until someone decides to not let me do it anymore).

The influx of new faces was nice to see.  Hopefully we didn't scare them too bad and they return next year along with the regulars who couldn't make it this year (was GERD there?)

Scott aka OCC,,,great pics!  Thanks for posting those.  I'm sure there will be a Pineapple Head Production coming out soon so keep your eyes out for that!

Sorry Blake and Jen looked so miserable in Belize.  I guess Hwy 1 was nicer?! LOL

For the Central Coast locals,,,email me tour contact info (and anyone else who wants to stay in touch) and we can try to organize some drives this next year!

Troy,,,you must be a regular!  Who else would know GERD'S routine so well??  Oh, that's right, we all do!! Keep in touch so you have direct input into a weekend that works for you for 2017!!

And Ted, I seem to remember the night a little differently.  Pretty sure we had to take you home after we cut your boxing gloves off after your fight.  Maybe I missed something!! LOL  And, I guess you were the one we all missed, since this was the first year with know breakdowns of any kind.  Tag, you're it!!

As Robert said, the raffle this year was probably the best one we've ever had because of all the great donated items from those who brought something.  And, even though Vincenzo kept changing the rules on us, it was fun to watch him get exasperated with all the late arrivals!   Congrats to the Kaufmans' on their big $350 win at the end!  The money couldn't have gone to a nicer couple!!

I hope everyone had as good a time as I did!  Email me with any feedback either positive or negative,  it all goes in the same round file! LOL

Until next year!!  Keep the rubber side down!

Just got home. The last leg was a b!tch from Fairfield to Sacramento. Fortunately I was able to reference from one of my classic publications: "I'd Rather Bake Than Broil - hot tips for summer driving"  circa 1983. Many useful tidbits to keep you cool in the summer heat with yummy recipes to cook up while driving to your destination. Contributing chefs Julia Child and Ross Perot. Forward by Hank Kissinger. It is definitely better to drive 7 hours in 95+ heat with the top up.

Many thanks to Scott and Marlene for putting this event together. Scott, how you put up with some of us (GERD) is beyond me. You are one bitchn' hombre. I just wish we could do it more often. Great turnout of newbies! Everyone of them a gem! Please come back next year! Vince and Gerd (Jared) - love you guys.

Tebs - you know.

Robert, I know you had some help  from Al and Jim, etc., with your roasting of yours truly, but your delivery was epic! I hope someone got it on film. I'm sure there will be more revealed in future posts.

Jim, I hope you know that you and Ginny are the soul of this group. You're very special to me as well.

The rest of you West Coasters? Show up next year, okay? It just wouldn't be the same without you.
