Wow! What a great group of folks we had this year. Anyone wanting to post photos or videos (or stories) about the WCC 2017, this would be a great place to start.
Robert,,,,maybe you can get us started! LOL

I'd like to leave everyone with a joke...
An Australian ventriloquist visiting NZ, walks into a small village and sees a local sitting on his porch patting his dog. He figures he'll have a little fun.
Ventriloquist: 'G'day Mate! Good looking dog, mind if I speak to him.'
Villager: 'The dog doesn't talk, you stupid Aussie.'
Ventriloquist: 'Hello dog, how's it going mate?'
Dog: 'Doin' all right.'
Villager: (look of extreme shock)
Ventriloquist: 'Is this villager your owner?' (pointing at the villager)
Dog: 'Yep'
Ventriloquist: 'How does he treat you?'
Dog: 'Real good. He walks me twice a day, feeds me great food and takes me to the lake once a week to play.'
Villager: (look of utter disbelief)
Ventriloquist: 'Mind if I talk to your horse?'
Villager: 'Uh, the horse doesn't talk either.... I think.'
Ventriloquist: 'Hey horse, how's it going?'
Horse: 'Cool'
Villager: (absolutely dumbfounded)
Ventriloquist: 'Is this your owner?' (pointing at the villager)
Horse: 'Yep'
Ventriloquist: 'How does he treat you?'
Horse: 'Pretty good, thanks for asking. He rides me regularly, brushes me down often and keeps me in the barn to protect me from the elements.'
Villager: (total look of amazement)
Ventriloquist: 'Mind if I talk to your sheep?'
Villager: 'The sheep's a f*@&%# liar'
Great time, Scott! Thanks to you, Marlene, Ryan and all those who helped out this year. Great food, drives and people. I'll have more to say later but I need a gummy and some sleep first. Took off early to get home before the thunder showers in the foothills but got ambushed by a brief downpour through Davis.
Anyone heard from Ryan? Hope the mountain lion didn't get him in the vineyard last night...

Yes. No. One. Over 60. All over. Over $600. You should have been there.
What an awesome gathering, total cars in Saturday's cruise = 30, awesome weather and roads. The video for this event will be EPIC! SLO attendees, please email me 4 or 5 of your favorite pics to musbjim AT gmail DOT com.
Sunday afternoon, SLO gig is over and Ginny & I are just chilling at the hotel. Drove a few miles down the road to Pismo Beach to catch the sunset then back to SLO to chillax the rest of the night. Heading home tomorrow.
It was my first time and it was definitely EPIC! My wifey and daughter had a blast too. Eleanor's new engine kicks a@@ and this was definitely a perfect shake down cruise.
I didn't get a lot of photos, but here is everything I took (video too).
Video at the start of the cruise:
This video was during one of the cruise legs. I'm following Seth's outlaw - one built by Troy. Seth came down from Berkley to join the party!
I have lots more to share. But first I wanted to let you all know you didn't miss anything driving Nacimiento-Fergusson. Traffic was awful and we were fogged in the whole time.
Cheerleaders?! Man... I'm so bummed.

Yeah, and @Ryan (formerly) in NorCal saw lots of wild animals in the vineyard - probably a raccoon...
Ryan, what a great video, I love it!
It looks like you had Big Sur to yourselves, what a dream!

See you next year!
Thanks for sharing the great video!

Haha. I made it home. But taking the faster highway route up from King City really beat me up. I should've put up the top (or at least my new wings!). No weather, but the 80 was a bit wet on the road still. Sleeping in my own bed was nice but I'll always remember waking up to this view.
Thanks for a great weekend everyone! Looking forward to seeing more photos.
My buddy Erik is putting together some epic drone footage of @Rusty S and my trip to Big Sur. We got to peek at it over lunch and it was amazing. I think you all will be floored with how beautiful it was. Can't wait to share!

Love! Thanks for sharing, Ryan!
Great pictures, hopefully next year I can make it again.
Great job, Ryan!
Almost like being there.
I hope no jack rabbits were harmed in the making of the video.
Looks like you were having a blast, but the latest news from the department of Oenology at UC Davis is that there are now much more efficient ways to crush wine grapes than using a Speedster!
Thanks to all involved for a great weekend. My wife and I enjoyed meeting every one. Added another 600 + more fun miles on the new toy. We shall return.
Awesome pics @Bob Hampton!
Looks like an incredible time, guys. Ryan, that picture of your car with the sun setting behind it is one of my all time favorites. That HAS to get into next year's calendar.
Great to hear all had a great time this year at the SLO reunion. The weather this time must have been perfect. Super to look through all the PICs and videos. Thanx for sharing.
Had a FANTASTIC time on my first run to SLO and on the winery tours with my speedster "Black Mamba" (finally), thanks to a lot of help from MUSBJIM and Greg at Vintage Motorcars to get her in shape.
I have to give a special thanks to Scott Cramer who was a lifesaver when my generator pulley decided to shatter (see pics) just before leaving SLO. I was checking oil and belt tension when I noticed that my fan belt was somewhat slack, so I retightened it and drove to the other side of the hotel to start packing when a loud clatter was heard and I immediately shut off the engine. When I opened the engine lid and looked inside the rear half of the pulley hub was snapped off the pulley itself...cheap Chinese stamped part. Long story short...Scott ran home and pulled an ORIGINAL VW pulley (yes a real steel one) off of his sons motor and loaned it to me so I could get home. When I went online after getting home to find a real pulley set like his, the only one I found on the net was on theSAMBA and it was listed for sale at $500!!!! Now I understand why Scott wants it back! I have to also say thanks to Roy and his son Greg for helping me get the stuck pulley hub off the generator, and to Dan who loaned me his 19mm socket and ratchet so I could get the nut off and back onto the generator to mount the loaner pulley. This is what makes this group a most special set of people who go above and beyond to help a fellow member get back on the road.

They also have some OEM quality (per the website) for less:
Oh, the PICs and videos are great; you guys are killing me for not making it this year especially with the super weather you had. No pressure Jim, but your video will cap the event overall.
Wow @Dutch. That escalated quickly. I'm glad you got the help you needed. See you at the next event.
We went to see Boston in concert on Monday. I have to say this... if they are playing in your area go see the show. The best show I have seen in years and probably the best 5 days off I have had in years. SLO was a blast. Sunday drive into Big Sur... that was a once in a lifetime - thanks @Ryan (formerly) in NorCal. Can't wait to see Eric's post production video!
You lucky SLO Event Guys. Here I am, sittn under my Palapa , watching the sun come up over the blue Sea of Cortez with my first Tequila Sunrise and tears running down my face from envy. I miss "Rhonda" in all her Red Glory.Looking forward to seeing Musbejims spectacular video......Bruce

I did see these Robert, thanks. Actually I lucked out and am getting an original Pulley from my daughter's BF who is also a VW freak, he's not only gifting it to me but cleaning it up and sandblasting it so I can paint it!!!
Whoa, what a great time and people... another awesome weekend with friends and new friends... Cigars, Scotch, beers and a little wine too! I think we ate too, but I really can't remember... :-) Props to all the Veterano's (that means old guys) that showed up as well as the newbies! looking forward to hooking up with the new SoCal folks that made the trip too... I am ready for next year already... someone pass me a RIB!

I am lucky that happened while still at the hotel and not on the freeway home! I am sure you found this group to be an extraordinary bunch of people who will literally give you the shirt off their back or in my case the Pulley off their bug!!! See ya next year and who knows Aleta and I might join you with our car and a set of hammocks! It was a pleasure getting to know you Ryan.

Bruce hope you are having a great time in Baja...I love the Sea of Cortez and have not been down there for a long time. Where are you? I am thinking of a trip with my girl down to La Paz or Loretto, any pointers for location? PS - I won one of your Visor sets at the SLO raffle and can't wait to put that on this weekend! Looking to buy your side wind wings as well which was already won by Ryan of Norcal...drat!!! Be safe and enjoy the Baja!
Just started looking through my 360 pics and found this gem. When's the last time you've had Big Sur to yourselves?
@Rusty S, what a day!
@aircooled, thanks so much for donating some wind wings to the raffle! I can't wait to try them. I should've had them on for the drive back up north.
Sorry @Dutch. If I don't care for them I'll reach out to you. But from @Terry Nuckels and @MusbJim's reviews, I wouldn't expect a call. They were definitely top of my list in the raffle.

Wow - That Big Sur ride is my all time favorite, i'm envious Ryan!. Idid that one back in the 70's in my '61 1600 Super Notch back Karmann Hardtop, what a blast!!! No worries about the wind wings, you will love them and will buy a pair soon. Cheers my friend!
To whoever donated the cutaway book to the raffle, "Thank you!" My kids are having a blast building them. We're doing the Speedster last.
@Terry Nuckels, I also had a beer in my Speedster mug. Thanks!
That's a perfect place for that book to end up!
All the best to you and your kids.
