West to East Epic trip

I look forward to meeting you when you get to Carlisle, Dave.  You're going to have a once in a lifetime trip.

I'm in.  Rich sent me an email and I am just swamped at work (did not read the whole thing yet) Al Shapiro if you are out there why don't we meet at Stan's place or around Indianapolis and we can all take route 74/70 to Carlisle.   

 

Three Intermecannica's driving together will be awesome.  Ruby Red, Man of Chile Grey & Carrera Cream-WOW!!!

"Satanistan", I've had trouble typing that over and over myself...

I dunno...  "Satanistan" sounds kinds exotic.

I believe Stan resides in "Stanistan".

The place Dave refers to is obviously further down the road...

Let me just say up front (probably before I am thrown out of Dave's car in the middle of the vast Nevada desert early into the trip) that I feel truly honored by Dave allowing me to join him on this trip. We have just briefly met via messages, a phone call and a video chat, but we are both looking forward to this great trip! Attached is a rough indication of what's happening in early May.

[Morning in a hotel along the way...the only room the hotel had...was a single. We now join our intrepid travelers as they wake after a restful night sleep]

Dave: Rich... Why did you kiss my ear?
Rich: Why are you holding my hand?
Dave:[frowns] Where's your other hand?
Rich: Between two pillows...
Dave: Those aren't pillows

WOW we have a lot of supporters. Looking forward to meeting lots of new people and reconnecting with some I have not seen i quite a while. David Stroud, last time I saw you I was waving good-by after you and your wife were headed east doing the same thing. The only difference is My car gets shipped home from Rich's house.

Yeah we are still modifying the route a bit and input from others to pick up along the way will have a bearing on the final route.

 

You know Terry if you and Dale drove out with us you guys could drive the IM home. Come on your both not getting any younger......

Dave Bash, we should be blowing by Indy late morning, noonish sorta time. We haven't figured out all the details yet where Marty and Sandy, maybe Allan Shapiro and Bobbie are going to meet up, but the early thoughts are to make it to Eastern PA by Wednesday evening to replenish for the early push to Carlisle by Thursday noonish or so...you're either with us or you're not coming?

Rich   I could join you along I70 just east of Indy. Your blow by of Indy is on Wednesday May 14 correct? I should have a new JPS Carrera coupe to slot into your formation. Safety in numbers eh?

Very excellent idea, with the cross-country drive. Very jealous, I am.

If I can get the head pilot (Dave Mitchell) to slow down enough and if we are coming that way (most likely we will), most certainly. We will most likely be stopping somewhere in the Pittsburgh area for R&R that night, pushing on to Carlisle with an ETA in Carlisle noonish or so on Thursday. Stay in touch, we won't leave you behind. We should look for the guy that looks like Dick Cheney, right?

Slow down? Hey anybody that wants to join the parade is welcome. I'm willing to modify route/time as necessary to maximize the fun! I think I speak for Rich as well. Some points, very few are set in stone. Going with the flow and having a fun epic experience is the whole point.

Man-O-Man--what an adventure yu guys are going to have!  I am completely green with envy.  Please keep us updated on the preparation plans as well as your progress along the route to Carlisle.

 

Above all, be safe and give those big tandem truck haulers lots of room!  See you in Carlisle!

Rich & Dave   Yup--I'm the faux Cheney in the faux 356. Stopping Wednesday eve in Pittsburgh area is a nice break to the 830 mile drive to Carlisle. Let me know your ETA in central IN.     Dave Bash
