..uhh yeah in a dream I had last nite.. but not in reality. i wish....However I've got a brand new transaxle coming from CHICO as of next week so a stocker set up is what I'm goin for.

Update: 10 minutes ago I found a nice Vintage Shifters Classic 10.5" shaft new in the box for 150 shipped..I jumped on it. Next best thing to a BERG. You can also find them on sale for 175 from Folkswerks (30 shipping according to the website). Usually retail for 2 bills
I have a Rennshifter in my 914. Huge improvement over stock. Never used the Wevo. You may also want to look at the cable shifter setup that Cable-Shift.com (Brandwood) sells. They're a little cheaper than the Rennshift setup. I just installed one in my Spyder. Very easy to do. Car isn't on the road yet, so no feedback on how it performs - however there are a lot of great reviews from people that switched to a cable type shift.
Not sure what transaxle you have but for my 901 I got a 915 short shifter and used the little kit in the pic below to change it into a fully gated shifter. I had to modify it a bit to make it work with the 901 but it was next to nothing to do.

I'm pleased with it but do not know how it would compare to the Wevo or the other one you mentioned. I believe someone else here has the Wevo. Cost wise, I think it was about $150 or so for the kit plus the shifter which I got off Samba.

I do have a 901 short shifter Robert. Its an alum plate that raises the base of the shifter up about half an inch and then a new shift column that is a bit shorter than stock but is that half an inch longer below the pivot point. You can check the various on-line vendors for them,a bout $120 I think. Beware of the ones that require you to cut your shifter and glue on an extension though. About 30% shorter throw I think.

The route I went was to get a 915 shifter off Samba, the complete shifter. I lucked out and got a factory short shift. I then got the kit mentioned above. The biggest problem you will have in using the 915 shifter is that the housing is a lot higher than the 901 so if your tunnel cover is made for the 901 it won't work with the 915 without some modifications like new carpeting, etc.

If you want to try the 901 short shift kit PM me and I can send it to you. You can then decide if it works for you.
