Hey Bill,

Just admiring the photos of your new car. There is a photo of the 'jeweled' wheel and down to the left, below the dash, there are three little knobs...what are those?
I'spose I can wait a couple weeks and ask you in person, but inquiring minds need to know... and who are you using to insure it(lol)

Ok,

Now I'M curious . . . I know what the three "lower" knobs are for, the three on the dash are most likely wipers, lights and lighter, but what's in the BOX on the passenger side floor?

My car came with the box(s) behind and ON the passenger seat. Was there an option for a passenger floor mounted cardboard box at one time that I'm unaware of, or is that an "owner installed" item?

Like I said, for some time now, I've known about the behind the seat, on seat, and front "trunk" mounted cardboard box(s), but that passenger floor mount is a new one on me.

Option? Extra? Original 356? Home made? Just curious . . .

"it appears to be bigger than a bread box! "

Remember when that MEANT something? There was a time when nearly everything small was "about as big as a pack of smokes"

Or . . . "a deck of playing cards"

Now they're "the size of a cell phone"

I used to set the point gap on my 409 using a "book of matches", tell stories "as long as your arm", and always figured that "tits are like tires," 'cause you needed two different measurements to get the size right.

Come on up!!!!! We were lucky enough to have a personal tour from one of the Track Driving instructors from New Hampshire International Speedway (a friend of ours who's also involved with the exhibit) but they have those little radio-thingies to wear which give you a personal tour anyway.

My wife, Kathy, is a sort-of car person but she really got enthused about some of the cars - like the Bugatti's and one of the Ferarri's. ALL of those cars look like they've never left the showroom and ALL of them are registered and driven. Simply amazing! And appropriate for today's Red Sox opening day, there is a Mercedes 300SL Gull Wing with a GORGEOUS baseball glove leather interior!!

When we arrived at the MFA, someone had just arrived out front in a 1934 Packard Touring Car and was dropping off some VIP's - we were standing by it for several seconds before I realized that it was idling, it was that quiet!
