Oil, tires, top and windshield, maybe a windshield wiper, an engine hours-counter, a manual switch for my auxiliary cooling fan, door handles (maybe) and removal of scripts and badges.

And I'll be taking it to Sean to make sure I haven't messed anything up too terribly when I'm done.
Great question!

I for one, am trying to retrieve my currently imobile car from the clutches of "she who will not be named," aka "my future ex-wife."

It's funny, I know so many of you. But I bet MOST of you have never seen my TD. It exists, I swear!

If I do get it back before Carlisle, there is still the issue of the bad engine in my car, which is awaiting the installation of my 1776 long block.

Anyone care for a midnight thrash the week before Carlisle?

Anybody got a better "Carlisle prep" story than that one? If you do, the egg sam-wich is on me! :-)
Change of oil and filter, check clutch free-play and adjust if needed, and a safety check should do it for me. Oh yeah - Remove the wire I used in the winter to keep the heater flappers all the way open. Sure don't need THAT any more.

And to keep up with Kelly Frazer: Wash, clay bar, glaze, wax, clean and treat leather, polish aluminum bits, clean engine, shampoo top, etc., etc., ...
After taking time on my wheel decision...I went with flat 4 deep six chromies. We put the car on jack stands, replaced the master cylinder, rear brake cylinders, porsche 5 bolt rotors and rear drums. Checked with Alex yesterday on the wheels to find out three of them came in and the forth is on a 2 to 3 week back order. C...R...A...P! A lot of work to get down to the wire and come up short. Alex said he will do everything to get my order filled. If not...I'm gonna load up my VW rat rod and bring it up. Hope I can still park with you guys if thats the case. Tom
I need to do a valve adjustment, check sync, and maybe a set of plugs. Changed the oil about a month ago. Give her a good cleaning, inside, outside, and engine. Maybe even a clay bar (learning)session. I will most probably install my original-style emergency brake that I just got, this week.

Vince, make sure you bring enough fluids, for the annual "Carlisle Fluid Replacement Therapy and Cigar Sessions" that seem to happen when it's dark outside!
Cold, wet and rainy in New England today. I remember a few years at Carlisle like today. In fact, the day we built Lane's car was just like today!

Can't do the outside stuff I had planned so went off and got some Brad Penn oil and am now about half-way through an oil change. Even changing the drain plug, plate gasket for the first time since I built the engine. Don't know why, just needed something more to do on a rainy day.

As I get older I would appreciate a lift so much more...... This crawling around on the floor stuff is for the birds.
I hope Carlisle weather is not like it is here today. We'll need Hawaiian Gortex , if they make such a thing. I almost started the wood stove today. Valve adj.and gaskets, grease, oil change, scrape some of the mud off, install Ignighter and stuff when/if I get a chance. Gather up at least too much stuff and hope for the best.
Did the routine maintenance and safety checks in preparation for the trek to Carlisle. Also, I fabricated a bracket that attaches to the deck lid hinge that will withstand the weight of a fully loaded suitcase and the luggage rack. I can now check the oil and any other under the engine deck lid needs without having to remove the suitcase from the luggage rack. All aluminum and stainless steel. This works very well with the IM air cylinder support system.
FINALLY found the time to finish my oil change, but it's been raining and I've been too busy to take it out for a blast. Maybe today, but it's never been "put up" for the winter since 2005 and I've been driving it all Winter in Beaufort, so all systems should be "GO"!

Before we trailered her North to Grafton, I loaded her up with 16 medium-sized plastic bins with shop stuff off-loaded from the back of the truck (ran out of room there and improvised) and then just grabbed small stuff from here and there in the shop and threw them in as fillers. I'm STILL finding stuff that I tucked into small spaces, but should have everything back to normal this week and ready to go. Now I'm working on some really cool stuff for the raffle.

Week-and-a-half to go!
