Go to the Newsletters tab, and then select the newsletter for September 4'th. The road trip article starts at the bottom of page 1 by Bob DiCorpo, and goes to page 4, I believe.

Sounds like some of the same problems we heard about at Knotts/Carlisle. Took these guys 7 days including a rest day, and they were running 75 - 85 most of the time, once they got out of the crowded Northeast.

BTW: so far, I've heard from two folks (Eastern and Midwest) who are interested in making a caravan out of this if we do it (I've gotta be nuts for even thinking about it, but, What the hell!)

I've fixed my oil leaks (turned out to be a tranny Input shaft seal) and tuned in the Dellorto's so it's running the best ever - even got rid of my little bird chirp on acceleration with new manifold gaskets (but I'm gonna miss the chirp) so I guess I can take the Winter to get the top and side windows installed, figure out a way to suck some heat off my 1 5/8" header tubes, find a much quieter pair of mufflers, install a CB radio and plug up all those pesky air leaks. THAT should turn it into a decent high-speed, long range cruiser. Already got the AM/FM/CD so I won't have to miss Patsy Cline or the Outlaws (What's this I hear Willie's working with "Los Lonely Guys" these days??) and my luggage should fit in the passenger footwell. AND the road spares kit is pretty much loaded.

OK, the planning's done........Who else is going?
