Some vents look like a construction paper after thought, this vent took some time to configure as it's not actually round. After cutting out the vent hole and tapering the edges, from the back side I glued in a piece of aftermarket Billet grill with 3M Panel Bond.
Yup. I’m doing a big air/oil cooled T4. I figure if those side vents really get more air into the engine compartment they might be a good idea. Probably need to get advice from Carey and others who are a lot smarter than me when it comes to engine cooling.
@Joe Fortino posted:@550 Phil I am sure you said it on another thread but why are you going with the convertible D

Actually one of the reasons is my wife really did like my intermeccanica Conv D. There’s a lot more head room than a speedster. And real role up windows are a huge plus. I had a hard top with my intermeccanica. With a Conv D you have to remove the large soft top before you install the hard top. Also I never liked the looks of that big soft top sitting on the rear of the car. It looked better, more like a speedster, with the soft top off. So I’m doing a Conv D soft top delete with removable hard top. Good thing. Henry will not sell Carey the hardware for the soft top. If I wanted a soft top I’d have to find a real Conv D convertible top. Carey said the last one he saw for sale was $15k just for the hardware.

funny, i watch these shows couples picking out house or place to rent,,the woman wins everytime..IM single and make my own choices, as does my girlfriend
For more info on engine cooling, side vents, etc., Google "NACA ducts". It's pretty interesting, but much of the science is over my pay grade.

Gotta be careful what you ask for...
Carburetor access doors serve no purpose on a Speedster. If you didn't know of their intended use then they would look cool. But since we do; I think they look foolish?
This is the roll bar that’s going in my new speedster
