Karl we need some pics if you want us to help. A lot of what the price is based on is how well it's been put together and how does it rate in the eye candy range.
Karl,
Coupe or cab? If you send me pics/more details I can tell you if it is one we made.
Carey
BTW We pulled the first new ENVEMO/Beck 356C cab body out of the mold yesterday! Some minor modifications are in order, but I'll have the first running prototype this winter.
I've gotta get off the 'puter and back into the shop, but send me an e-mail w. the details and I'll look it over at lunch or this eve.

No pictures yet I may have some later this week. The condition is near perfect. It is a cab.
Thanks Karl
Thanks Karl
Sure like to hear of progress on a replicar sunroof coupe. Anyone?
Bruce,
That was my plan a 356A sunroof coupe. I have not been able to find a manufacture that is currently producing one. I have talked with Carey Hines at Beck, a very nice guy BTW, but no plans at the present time to move toward production. There is a guy in the UK who is currently making a coupe but he is not set up for LHD, no dash plus shipping from the UK is big $$$. The only option that has any promise is a company in Mexico that may have a prototype later this year. I like my IM so much that I wanted to pick up a coupe to use when the weather turns cold and wet. I ran across a 356C Cab, the other day and thought it might work but don

I guess it sounds like there isn't a 356 Coupe on the market anymore? Thats a shame, it would be a nice daily driver option, especially if you could take a basic mexican beetle and convert it...

karl,
that's a nice looking replica. I think I'd find out what a comparable 356c would sell for and then knock 40-50% off since it is a replica.
just my 2%

Nice looking car Karl!
The Passenger doesn't look so bad - Looks loyal! As good as any car alarm if not better.

The passenger looks great. A judge might say "magnificent hindquarters". I tried that on a girl once and it didn't work out too well.
Fred,
I don't know who the manufacture was, although I think it may have been EVENMO. I asked Carey Hines to have a look and see if it is one that they built 15 years ago.
As you know I am looking to replace my daily driver and would prefer a 356A Coupe. Unless you get that prototype from Mexico ready it doesn

Karl,
I talked to the gentleman that ownes the car,and he was pretty upset that everyone was jacking him around on the price. He told me he wanted $16000. Ive owned a coupe and cab both, and the coupe was really cool. It had a.c.,leather interior, nardi wheel and a great stereo. The color of this car hurts it a little so I think its worth $12000 to $13000. By the way, it is an Envemo.

Karl,
You've got mail.
Beautiful cab by the way, great find! Envemos are quite rare in the US and therefore desireable as a replica. If I understand correctly, they used many original 356 parts.

Karl,
I just got your email and pics. Thanks.
It sure looks like an ENVEMO to me, but I don't remember that color combination ever coming through the shop. (BUT I was in college at that time too, so I may have missed it) I forwarded the pics to dad, hopefully he'll remember the details.
Regarding the price, I disagree. I think it is well worth the asking price, and would be a steal at anything less. We have helped place several others, which all drew low to mid $20's.
Just my 2c.
BTW- Cost new, in its most basic form, is estimated around $30K.
I'll see dad in the shop this morning, and we'll talk about it. I'll let you know more soon.

Karl, I agree. A new 356 Coupe replica would be the ticket for me too.
Jim,
My wife does not share my passion for old cars let alone Speedsters. When I showed her this car she really liked it. After doing a lot of research it turns out that this is an Envemo. Blue Ray GT Engineering out of Huston, TX built the car in the mid 90

Congratulations, Karl. Now you're a two-Speedster family?
Karl,
No problem, glad to help. Hope to see it sometime. I'll let you know about the seats soon.

Bruce,
That's the whole idea, however you never know. Nancy may drive the car around the block then tell me I'm nuts forget it. Or we may just have another SOC member we'll see. Its fun watching her anticipation, as we get closer to picking up her car.
